RE: Solar Charging

"I would recommend you look here. They still know the meaning of the words customer service." They are fantastic and if you can get your RV to them to have them do the installation you will be extremely pleased with their work. Great folks! Do you mean These folks?

RE: Nothing But Sky! The Saga of the Missing Vent Cover.

Our first MH was an old one and one morning after a storm with some bad winds I awoke, looked up and saw blue skies and green oak leaves swaying above me. After a moment of wandering why I saw leaves I started to giggle. I figured it was better to laugh than cry. My husband woke up and said what's the matter. I told him that along with all the other problems we had had with the MFH (motorhome from hell)it had blown its top. I found pieces of the vent cover on the ground behind us and they broke into smaller pieces when I picked them up. I called it plastic fatigue. We now have a newer MH and have the Maxxair covers over the original vents; so far no problems and one has the vent cover pillow in it.

RE: Apria Healthcare

Just sifting through some older topics and came across this one. I'm glad to see you found cpap.com. They're great to deal with. If you're paying out of pocket, you should also look at another site they manage: cpapauction.com. Cpap.com manages the prescription records for you so you can order from the auction site. If you're worried about having trouble ordering new equipment when the time comes, start talking with your doctor NOW about getting a copy of your prescription in hand. Most doctors don't get it at first, but explain to him/her that it's a safety issue for you in case you need to replace the machine, mask, or other supplies while you're travelling. Then you'll have the freedom to shop wherever you want. I found that I could buy the equipment out of pocket at the auction site and still spend way less than my copay going through my insurance. This also allowed me to get a "data capable" machine, which my equipment provider (Super{don't}Care) wouldn't approve for me. Now I can view the data from the machine and monitor the effectiveness of the treatment and get my numbers where they belong. I wouldn't have known that my mask was leaking so much if I didn't have access to this data at home. Yes Cpap.com is great. I still haven't got a machine from APRIA Ripoff, I now have an appointment with a new sleep doctor. He also faxed a letter of medical necessity and a new prescrition. Apria will still not supply the machine he is ordering. A Bi-Pap Auto. Go figure how in the *&%& does Apria stay in business?

RE: Ham Radio as a hobby?

Can you talk to the International Space Station with your cell phone? You can with Ham Radio. If you read the Atricle in CQ Magazine last month by WB6JAR you would know how to talk to the space station with a cell phone.:h Don't take CQ, but will try and find the article you are referring to. I don't take it either. I know the man that wrote the article. I have friend in PA, that knows him also and he called me and asked if I could get him a copy. I have been trying to find the issue myself. I know that earlier this month the author did a presentation on it at a local club. i had a prior commitment and could not attend.

RE: Boondocking battery power?

Why spend thousands for solar panels and the assorted equipment needed when you can do it on the cheap with batteriesYour idea is fine if your power needs are extremely small. I have a home TV and surround sound amp, my lighting is incandescent, I have a coffee maker and MW which I use. I might easily draw down the solar energy my 360w of panels supply during the day. Sounds about right to me

RE: Digital TV Reception in Quartzsite

Is anyone receiving any reception using their antennas? I thought when you were in Quartzsite you were there to camp and boondock. And drink mass quanities of Old Bushmills and Coffee :S Who watches television? :h That is true, but a person needs to get some other intellectual input besides what he gets from his drinking buddies. Lenny I don't share my Old Bushmills and Coffee, but if you knock on my door I will share a cup with you.

RE: Does Insulin Require a Prescription?

No blood test on dogs... use a paper test strip and dog's urine... I had to follow the dog around until she squatted to pee and then I used a sardine can stapled onto a yard stick to catch the urine .. My Father and his wife had a dog that his wife would feed Jelly Bell Jelly Beans to. The dog got Diabetes it was really funny to watch the "Wicked Witch of San Jose" running around after the little dog "Marty" trying to get a urine sample every morning.

RE: Apria Healthcare

Yesterday my doctor faxed a copy of my sleep study and a letter of Medical Necessity to Apria. I talked to Apria this afternoon at 1645 hrs. they said that they were waiting for Medicare to approve the new machine what a joke. I will wait a see what these clowns do next. I am sure glad I bought another machine out of my own pocket. I could die having to wait for Medicare and Apria to get me a new machine. Just wait until the new Govt.Health Care plan takes affect. :S

RE: Apria Healthcare

I called my insurance, they called APRIA...they got nowhere with them either. This afternoon I recived a call from my doctors office. Apria is now requesting a new sleep study saying Medicare is requiring it. I talked to my insurance BC/BS FEHB. They called APRIA, the lady said APRIA was very rude and saying they needed a letter of Medical Nesecity from my doctor. So I wil call her tomorrow and see if she will send them clowns one of those. The next thing they will want is our first born...geez.
