RE: Heater core replacement

2bzy2c Don't do it. It will plug up not only the holes, but the heater core itself. Been there. Done that! Strange comment for a product that has been on the market for over 60 years. As I recall, these products only solidify when they are in contact with air. Not much air is a sealed cooling unit. BTC

RE: How level does a fridge have to be?

I use a "fish eye", or "Bulls Eye" level, available at any RV supply. Just set it on the fridge level surface, works best, no running around looking at pasted on level indicators. BTC Level

RE: can you winter camp in a pop up?

In regards to Catalytic heaters, it is not only the CO one has to be concerned about, but it is the heater using up the oxygen in a confined space. Lost two buddies in an air tight tent, using one of those heaters. BTC

RE: Ice Chest -- has anyone ever tried this?

If you live close to the ocean, stop and get the cooler filled with snow ice from a fish boat landing site. Lasts forever just don't use it in your drinks. BTC

RE: Entering Canada with prior misdemeanor adjudication witihhel

A misdemeanor in the US is equivalent to a Summary Conviction in Canada. Summary convictions encompass, traffic ticket, alcohol offenses, some minor Criminal Code offenses, parking tickets. I don't think your wife will have any trouble at the border. JMHO BTC

RE: Canadian Auto Insurance Card

Vehicle insurance in Canada comes under provincial jurisdiction. therefore the Canada/US border guards have no interest in your vehicle insurance. If you come into contact with the police in Canada, due to an accident, driving violation or any other police investigated problem, you may be asked to produce proof of insurance by producing the card. I would therefore recommend that you have your insurance card available while driving in Canada. Here in Alberta the fine for not having one is quite substantial and not a fine I would like to get. RE: Metal Detecting and RVing

If I was traveling up the Alaska Hiway and had a metal detector, I would research where all the old air bases and army bases were during the war, and do some searching around there. JMO BTC

RE: The good old radiator

What do the plugs look like after a bout of skipping and back firing? There's a possibility you may have an internal crack opening up allowing liquid into the combustion chamber. Do any of the plugs look like the have been steam cleaned? BTC

RE: Medical Care in Canada

Canada will never turn some one away that needs immediate medical attention. You'll get fixed up and then we worry about collecting. Having said that, carry some form of supplemental medical care to cover you in Canada, for the time you will be here. BTC

Yukon Campground

For information purposes. BTC The Yukon Government has given final approval for a new campground on Atlin Lake. The Taku River Tlingit First Nation in Atlin tried to convince the government to drop the plan, saying the site could be part of an eventual land claim by the First Nation. But environment minister Currie Dixon says that's not enough to halt all development along the Atlin Road. “Their position that absolutely no development can occur in that area until they have a land claim is a bit untenable,” Dixon says. “We've indicated to them we're more than willing to come to the table when negotiations begin on their land claim.” The Carcross Tagish First Nation is supporting the new campground. Atlin lake map This map shows the location of the future campground. (CBC) Dixon says some of its suggestions have been worked into the construction plans. He says the government has also promised the First Nation it will build another campground at Conrad, on Windy Arm near the Yukon-BC border. Campsite will have 55 spots The new Atlin Lake campground will include about 55 camping sites, with construction beginning this summer. Dixon says construction plans for the campground were tweaked to minimize the impact on wildlife. He says it will meet strong demand for campsites along the Atlin Road. “Our campgrounds in that area tend to be very well used and this particular site is absolutely gorgeous and it will make an absolutely wonderful campground,” Dixon says. Eric Schroff, the director of Yukon Parks, says this will be the first new campground since one was built outside Faro almost 30 years ago. “All of the facilities, the picnic tables, the cooking shelters, those sorts of things will all be brand new, but it will follow the same basic design, with sites available for RVs, for people with tents, and it will be very family oriented as well.” Schroff says they're aiming for the May long weekend 2015 for the grand opening. Atlin Lake is the largest natural lake in British Columbia with a small portion of the north end stretching into the Yukon.

Shaw HD is not available in the US, other than just south of the 49 parallel. Shaw has limited the HD foot print with the HD satellites. Regular Shaw can be obtained well into the US still. BTC
