RE: Fireplace - Yes or No?

Sorry, I didn't mean to be to harsh with the "stupid" comment. Here's another option: Download a fireplace screen saver or video for your computer. http://www.fireplacevideoshd.com/ Or maybe a fireplace DVD. http://www.amazon.com/FIREPLACE-CLASSIC-Fireplace/dp/B0044WNK7U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1357769837&sr=8-2&keywords=fireplace+dvd I know they don't give out heat, but a $20-$30 space heater can do that AND you can still keep the rear window view. OOooor they can go out on the beach and light a fire.

RE: Walmart etc overnight parking

We usually use the Cracker Barrel parking lots. Tons of room and very nice people. Its also great to have a big Bfast before hitting the road.

RE: What do you do with your large dogs?

We have a Rhodesian Rdigeback and a Golden both well trained and travel extremely well. One rule, no dogs on furnature, 150 lbs of dogs kills cushions. They travel in the back seat of the 4 door Dodge Dually and sleep there at night and gives us a little more room in the Nothern Lite. If its too cold (under 40) they sleep in the camper.

RE: 5th to TC

We traded in our 35' 5er for a Northern Lite 10'2"CD best move we made! Easy to do overnights and we did a trip to Boston from SD in 3 days and used the TC. Never would have done it in the 5er. We camped about 25 nights this year and maybe would have done 5 in the 5er.

RE: Saw a VW Amarok diesel pickup...

I am mystified that the diesel gets only 30mpg.

RE: New Lance 1172 Truck Camper Video

wldbill, DUH! Far from another dumb comment! We see lots of older Lance Campers (20-40 years old) still in very good shape every year in CG's etc. etc. etc. You have good luck with Lance, great! You don't like Dodge whatever, but you see only what you want to see to. Your arguement is mostly opinion not fact, how about some facts, nutz? http://lancecampersucks.com/index.htm

RE: Loading a camper without enough space between the jacks

Borrow someone else's truck that is more narrow and mess with it when you get it home. Then mess around with some swing out brackets or bracket extensions on your own time.

RE: New Lance 1172 Truck Camper Video

"hopefully they don't fall apart in 2 years." What a dumb comment!!! It's a Lance Truck Camper, not a Dodge Ram truck. In 30 years the Lance will still be going strong while the Dodge Ram will be mostly rusted away and filling a slot in a junkyard. Another dumb comment. We all have our likes and dislikes. BTW here is an interesting site.. http://lancecampersucks.com/other_owners.htm

RE: Honeymoon in an RV....

Yup, we used our new Coleman pop-up camper in midSeptember 1999 on Mustang Isl. TX. Luckily on our first night we had a BIG storm and it tore off our awning and almost flipped us over. Closed it up and headed into Corpus soaked and tired at 6AM and napped in Barnes and Noble comfy-chairs until noon. Rest of the day and week we had great weather and a wonderful week on South Padre all by ourselves. Great story to tell 13 yrs later....

Late Season Maine Camping

We are travelling home to see my very sick sister and are trying to plan a few day trip along the coast of Maine from Mass with her mid-October. Anyone have any ideas of CGs still open along the coast as far north as Mt Desert Isl?

RE: Car sick cat...any suggestions???

Whew, we travelled with our cat once. He would use the "facilities" and stink us out EVERY morning at 5 AM. He stayed home after that.

RE: Winterize Question

Never bothered to blow out the lines, just opened the low point drains and let it drain out. Then added anti-freeze. Don't forget dead end lines like the city water connection and the washer connection if there. 15 plus years stored in Northern Illinois and never had an issue. Now we take it to Arizona - better solution! I guess I forgot the city connection. How do you get the antifreeze as the water pump is not used for that line?

RE: 2010 RAM 1500 PAYLOAD 4 x 4 CREW CAB

*RANT* 1/2 ton trucks are glorified grocery-getters. With all the bells and whistles and crew cabs etc. it drives down the carry/tow capacity to near nill. Why do people insist on using 1/2 tons as work/camper hauling-pulling rigs. If you will do anything with a "pick-up truck" get a 3/4 ton at a minimum.

RE: Is dually overkill for lighter fifthwheel

As is the words of Dwyane Ingles Glasscock WBCN Boston circa 1982... "too much is never enough"! We in 2007 we bought a Dodge 1 ton 6.9L Diesel Dually because we didn't know what 5th wheel we would get. It was the best thing we ever did. It pulled a 16000 lb 5th wheel and now it hauls our 3500lb+- Northern Lite TC. We never have to worry about if the truck can handle a different camper and we never will. Go big or stay home.

Looking to install a Trimetric Monitor

I am interested is installing a Trimetric Monitor. We have been mainly plug-in camping and want to do some boondock camping and need a better idea what our batteries are doing. We have a 2011 Northern Lite 10 2000 CD truck camper on a 2007 Dodge 6.9L diesel 1 ton dually and will be camping here in South Dakota in the off season so we will see some below freezing temps. I am looking to install the Bogart 2025RV with a shunt. Any info would be appreciated.
