"The Chrysler built 68RFE in the 2500 and 3500 Pick-ups is right on par with the Allison 1000." Good one, and I have some oceanfront property in Arizona for sale.............. Like I said about the new Ford transmission:When they put a Dodge tranny in a US Army tank, let me know.......

AS I recall, there is a sign at teh bottom that warns drivers that unless you have an Allison tranmssion, you should use the bypass and avoid this steep grade.

Well if 1st is a 'granny' gear then you really only have 7 speeds ,and if 8th is a double overdrive only used on the flats with a light load your back to 6 speeds. :-) And if you are hauling a big load in town, you can't use 7th gear. And if I keep typing, this transmission will end up being a 3 on the tree.....
