Tried to make reservations online for FW but I keep getting reservation info for reserving FW packages at cabins not sites?? Is there an online link for FW sites reservations itself? We only want to reserve a site, not get a package.

The site is very confusing at least to me. I tried for several nights and finally realized it was telling me those dates were not available but try this as an alternative place to stay. Their RV park is tied to their hotel reservation system. Anyway I finally called and there was no space available anyway. They told me that other than some sparced out days they were booked into next year. I gave up im not that much of a mouse fan anyway.

It is better to make reservation by phone rather than the internet. I have read in guidebooks that Disney has a different policy for cancellations(a $100 fee)after booking via internet. For instance, by phone you have to cancel just a few days before. By internet, it is much , much longer(weeks). We made a reservation less than a week before and got a preferred campsite. We LOVED this campground.

I recently heard that Fort Wilderness campsites book up solid very early in the year and I know of one family who could not get a site for late August for an entire week when they wanted it.
So Good Luck. When were ya thinking about going?
We're thinking about going down next spring and will book many months in advance when we set the dates.

I received a coupon from Disney for discount of of upto 80 dollars a nite. Called them for info it does not apply to Fort Wilderness. The Discount at the resorts made it cheeper to stay in the resorts the to Camp.

Found out you can't book a site thru internet! Very confusing because FW is one of the options for selecting where you want to stay online, but once you try to book online...you can't! We did get our reservation though by calling the Disney number and will be there over the Christmas break, so we're really excited about that!! Called twice though, first dates were pushing it travel wise for us, so I called again and got a different rep and she came up with a better schedule for us! She said it pays to just keep calling and trying because there are always cancellations opening up and you might just luck out...which we did!! So call often to see what they've got!

We live about two hours from Ft Wilderness and usually find it easier to get a campsite on Tuesday or Wendsday before the weekend because every on who is going to cancel waits till the last minite to cancel.

Hi !!!
We've been to Fort Wilderness at least 5 times, and haven't had to make a reservation yet. We generally pull in by the gate, walk in and see what they have. Only difference is you don't get to choose your site and we haven't been disapointed yet.

A few months back I tried but found that I could only select from a few package deals that didn't fit my needs.
The packages will save you a fair bit of change but only if they fit with your plans and needs.
