Is anyone familiar with the Camping World membership campground? I'm a bit leary of membership campgrounds, since I had a few friends that were burned. I found them on the internet and they have approximately 18 campgrounds on the east coast and still growing.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's called Camping World Corp. It even had its own website, but I forgot to bookmark it and don't know the address. I see you're from Allentown (wife's from Easton). The website listed a few of their campgrounds in PA, including one in the Poconos not far from Allentown/Easton. I'll try to find that website again.
We have been to the outdoor world in Millersville(Lancaster), PA and it is really nice. They have an indoor waterpark there. We are going again in October, some friends sign us in. You can do that for 3X before you have to listen to the selling presentation. My brother-in-law bought a membership probably 15 years ago and never used it! I know you have to also pay yearly fees but I am not sure how much. Have you checked on ebay to see if you can get one cheaper than paying the full price. I know you can transfer the memberships but I am not sure what all is involved. Just a thought. My brother-in-law is selling his for half of what he paid for it. I thought about buying it but we enjoying going to many different places and this limits you to where you can go. I think the places are really nice though. Good luck.

Still learning! Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.
Camper World is not a campground membership. They sell camping materials. The are a member of the Affinity Group that owns Coast to Coast affiliated camgrounds that are all over the N.W. and U.S. They also own Good Sam.
Camping World is a retail membership chain that carries camping and RV supplies at a discount to it's members, but it is also open to the public. Camperworld on the other hand is a membership RV resort that has 9 locations in UT, they plan on adding 2 more in the near future. Go to camperworld.com for more info.
I do not believe that Camping World has membership campgrounds. They do sell Passport America, campgrounds that offer discounts as high as 50% off of overnight fees. For a yearly fee of $39 you can have access to those discounted campgrounds. A good deal for some people if you can utilize those campgrounds.
