For awhile we were greatly concerned about these viruses and our new dell computer, but by taking solid advise form members of this forum, we purchased The Norton's firewall and anti-virus and now nothing bad comming in and nothing bad going out. Chuck (Bagman).

Keep them updated. I do mine at least every other day. There's no such thing as too often.

Chuck,
I think it must have slowed down some. I haven't gotten any for several days now (I should say Norton hasn't caught any). Of course, now that I say that there'll probably be a bunch pop up.

Nortons only updates their virus list once a week, on Wednesdays. If you have 2002 it should do it automaticly when you log on. There is a way to get updates everyday, but you have to go to their site and download them and install them manualy.

I am getting an average of four virus infected emails a day out of about 25 pieces of emails a day.

Lately, some of these emails are containing 2-3 viruses each.

Anyone will get an email virus if they have their email address long enough. It is just wise to let an anti virus program find it before the virus infects your computer.

Chuck, one thing that you can depend on is that there will be more viruses! Unfortunately there seems to be a group that find nothing better to do than creat chaos.

Norton (and I am sure others) make a good product and will protect your system if you keep it current. My Norton is set up so that it will check for updates daily and automatically. Even then I still run an update from time to time just for my own peace of mind.
