Just thought I would share my families experince with this. Normally we have no problems with drinking, we do ourselves enjoy a few beers after a long day an the child is in bed. But last summer at the St. Mary's Grand Lake State Park in Ohio, we camped a few sites down from some people who were drinking ALL day. The hard stuff. No Problem. Until The husband started yelling at hte wife what a B***** she was and the started hittingher and throwing her around. The ended up behind our tents and my husband had to stop him. No one in their party ( about 15 People ) tried to. She was black and blue. When the conservation officer got there, the husband had taken off and nothing happened.
No I don't care if someone wants to enjoy a few drinks. Just don't let it get out of conrol.
Whyfor you pickin' on us yanks??? Anyhoo, only one word comes to mind here:
ENFORCEMENT
I have been camping for over 20 years now. I have seen more than my fair share of obnoxious, loud drunks, obnoxious, loud sober people, unruly kids, unruly pets, and the worst of all-the yahoos running the particular campground that don't enforce the rules! I can count on one hand the times I have had any alchohol while camping, but that's mostly because I'd have to walk to any indoor plumbing! All that's changed now! I hold no grudge against someone who wishes to pop a few, have some wine, JD, or Cuervo, as long as they are in control. One comment, though, for some of you that like to party and don't think that you are being that loud-sound carries, especially in an area like a campground that is open. You might THINK you aren't being that noisy, and in your normal enviroment, you probably wouldn't be, but just keep it in the back of your mind that you may be louder than you perceive. While I agree that those who want complete quiet should go elsewhere, we still need to show respect to others around us.

That was not a drinking problem. That was a felenous a$$hole assaulting someone. I assume she did not press charges if nothing happened. She has a right to have him put away.
