My leaf springs are very squeaky. Is it ok to lube them, or should I leave them alone?

Thanks..

I say grease em up. Used to be that trucks had grease zerks on the springs. Now they use a nylon bushing between the leaves. Once nylon gone.... squeak city.

Hi;
Took mine into a local spring/suspension emporium. They loosened the springs, drove wedges between the leaves and installed what looks like teflon tape w/shoulders in between the leaves... no squeeks in almost two years.
