This past weekend, Keith & Elaine Day (Klewisd) met Joanne and I up in Frankenmuth, Michigan and we inspected both campsites and our decision is to have it June 18-20 at the Jellystone RV Park in Frankenmuth. This is all discussed in the other Frankenmuth thread, but I'll do it once more. The difference in cost is minimal. Jellystone $39.00 (locked in) vs Pine Ridge $32.00 with a price increase coming before June of 2004. The Jellystone RV park is rated (5) stars facilities and (5) stars activities by Woodalls and they clearly have much better facilities. There is 9 campfire rings close to where we will be parked and this past weekend, the park was 95% full and only saw two rings being used. Therefore, we can have our campfires. As far as the sites being too narrow, we can arrange our RVs in a way that you will be able to put out your awnings. For those folks traveling long distance, there is a shuttle bus that runs back and forth between the Jellystone park and downtown Frankenmuth. This bus does not go to Pine Ridge. Futhermore, Jellystone is directly across the street from Bronners (largest Christmas store in the world) and only a 1/2 mile from downtown Frankenmuth. Pine Ridge is 4 1/2 miles from the Jellystone park or almost 5 miles from downtown Frankenmuth. The Frankenmuth Jellystone park had paved roads and the other one doesn't. We can have our potluck dinner Saturday night in the pavilion, which is a very nice large building. If you think $39.00/night is too much, start today to put a quarter and a dime in a glass jar and by the time June 18th. comes around, you'll have your fees covered. Just as soon as Keith can build this website, you will be able to sign up for this rally. You will also have to call the park and confirm your reservation with a credit card. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contac either Keith or myself. You can send me a private message, e-mail me at home, work, or at: cms4282@yahoo.com. If you decide to come next June, you will not be disappointed. Best wishes, Chuck/Bagman.
Very much looking forward to Frankenmuth in June 2004...who knows maybe we even might have a new fifth wheel by then (Cruiser 27RL) but we'll see how everything goes!
Maybe we can all head over to Tony's in Birch Run for lunch...one luch meal from Tony's can feed probably 10-12 people at one time...love those big meals! LOL
The price of the campground doesn't mean that much to us....We've paid more....The important thing, is the people that will be attending...Shuttle sounds good....Looks like we will be putting the date on our calendar....Pat
P.S. The difference between $29 and $39....for the three days is $30....If $30 keeps you from comin' then you didn't want to come, in the first place...Pat

All I can tell you, is that Frankenmuth is an experience. Everything at Tony's at exit 136 in Birch Run is SUPER SIZED! Anyway, we met a German couple at the Jellystone RV park and they had rented a 29' class C and were touring the United States and the wife was from Baveria. She said Frankenmuth reminded them of Baveria, Germany. The shuttle bus works well, but Joanne and I usually like to make the walk to Frankenmuth and go over the covered bridge and burn off some of those calories! And just like Pat said, how do you put a price tag on meeting old RV friends and making new ones? We look forward to going to these rallies and my guess is that Joanne and I will probably make it to four of them in 2004. Frankenmuth 2 will be the last one that we will do. I think it is important for other members to put these rallies on just like Mrs. Mik has done. Its just something that I personally feel should be spread around. Tunica was first class and was definitely worth the drive! Sincerely, Chuck/Bagman.

Frankenmuth 2 is for any member of WWW.RV.NET. It is totally different then a Tiffin only rally, although we hope to have one of those next year in Alabama. Chuck/Bagman.
