just never liked the noise or smell of diesels. I know how to maintain and work on gas engines and I'm too old to even care about learning to work on or maintain a diesel. (aren't all you dieselers glad that old Rudolf's last name wasn't Lilly or Pansey, or something like that).
I am not smart enough to know how to do that. Many in this thread have pointed that out no?
Its like I have said before. The thread title is diesel verses gas, but the majority only talk about MPG and that is exactly where many diesel owners differ.
I just wish we could talk about all performance measures comparing BBgassers and diesels. More post claiming 28.7 MPG mean nothing when the intended purpose of the trucks in question is pulling large loads cross country.

Why are so many elderly gents hating their diesels when young guns think they are the bomb?
You already admitted to making up the quotes from people who supposedly hate their diesels. Remember?
The quotes are true its just the way that I portray the proud diesels owners that gets some fellas.
Here are some of your so called quotes,
"Just like when riding shotgun with the owner of the 7.3L. He acted like I was nuts when I asked doesn't this thing have any more go to get up over the hill? "You will burn it up, that's all the more fuel you can give it or she will overheat dummy" he said."
" “Dat dare truck gets me 25mpg. I can hook up to dat dare 40ft 5th wheel wid mamas entire brass roster collection inside and I don’t even know its behind me. Yes sir boy, I pulled that rig up over (so high it makes you dizzy pass) like it was not even there. Probably would have left the ground at the top had it not been for the sun reflecting off mars and gettin into me eyes. Had to back out of er ya know”.
"“Dat dare truck will run for 700,000 miles without so much as an oil change and when I trade it in I will look to get near what I paid fer her cause everyone wants dat dare diesel”. “Would rather part with me first born over dat dare truck”.
" “Sure I can get 21mpg running mama to the doctors office and the mall, but when I hook to my 12,000 5th wheel I am getting 9mpg. Don’t believe what anyone tells you. The mileage is single digits if you hog into it. I usually try to move between parks at night with less traffic because I don’t like holding up the trucks on the hills. This thing is wonderful in the park and on the two lane, but once you get up the ramp, its kinda, well, ahhh A DOG!”
Yep, those are sure believable quotes all right.
Here is one more of yours that I do believe, its the one where you admit you made all of them up.
In my complete bogus survey spread across RV parks from TX to NY state it appears that 100% of the respondents will not stand behind their diesel dicision
You have zero credibility in the forum. This is kind of like trying to teach a pig to sing. I ain't accomplishing anything and the pig is getiing annoyed.
For you folks that are replying to ponies posts....in the last yr, he has made a whopping 44 posts.......43 are in this thread alone!

Ponie is just like the liberal PRESS that believes that if they say something long enough people will start to believe it and they (Ponie) can then feel better about their own uninformed and naive decisions. If nobody is willing to continually correct these types of statements then eventually others will start believing then who do we have to blame (ourselves). Look at what’s happened with the new diesel trucks and all the emissions******they have on them now.

Chip on my shoulder ? No, I have $16,000 extra in my pocket after selling my 2003 6.0 PSD and getting an 8.1 van that works out much better for me. But the post by the F250 PSD owner saying he gets 18mpg towing a 5th wheel at 70mph was very entertaing. I think the diesel fumes got to him
