Rub it in! Diesel is still in the 4.30-460 range in the greater Seattle area. At least unleaded is below 3.90, premium is still about $4 per gal!

Altho still better than 60+ days ago at $5+!!!

$4.199 for diesel here Friday...gas (87 octane) was $3.399 at the same station.

One worhtless post deserves another...

Diesel is 4.29 in Milan, IL
Regular is 3.52 just accross the river in Bettendorf, IA

ooh ooh better yet, how about this..
Diesel is 4.89 in Chicago, IL
Regular is 3.29 in North Phoenix, AZ

and to stay on topic.. I don't care for the sound/noise or small of diesels. Even if Diesel were to have twice the milage of gas I wouldn't switch. So for the time being, I will stick with my 6.0L gas getting 10MPG loaded up and be happy. As for power, a small block gasoline engine has enough power for many of us anyways.

Some day maybe they will make a nice 4.0L diesel that I wont find so offenseive. I will wait, until then, I am burning gas.

It’s the Diesel Regret that I find far too often in RV parks that makes me wonder.

Why are so many elderly gents hating their diesels when young guns think they are the bomb?

You already admitted to making up the quotes from people who supposedly hate their diesels. Remember?

The quotes are true its just the way that I portray the proud diesels owners that gets some fellas.

Here are some of your so called quotes,

"Just like when riding shotgun with the owner of the 7.3L. He acted like I was nuts when I asked doesn't this thing have any more go to get up over the hill? "You will burn it up, that's all the more fuel you can give it or she will overheat dummy" he said."

" “Dat dare truck gets me 25mpg. I can hook up to dat dare 40ft 5th wheel wid mamas entire brass roster collection inside and I don’t even know its behind me. Yes sir boy, I pulled that rig up over (so high it makes you dizzy pass) like it was not even there. Probably would have left the ground at the top had it not been for the sun reflecting off mars and gettin into me eyes. Had to back out of er ya know”.

"“Dat dare truck will run for 700,000 miles without so much as an oil change and when I trade it in I will look to get near what I paid fer her cause everyone wants dat dare diesel”. “Would rather part with me first born over dat dare truck”.

" “Sure I can get 21mpg running mama to the doctors office and the mall, but when I hook to my 12,000 5th wheel I am getting 9mpg. Don’t believe what anyone tells you. The mileage is single digits if you hog into it. I usually try to move between parks at night with less traffic because I don’t like holding up the trucks on the hills. This thing is wonderful in the park and on the two lane, but once you get up the ramp, its kinda, well, ahhh A DOG!”

Yep, those are sure believable quotes all right.

Here is one more of yours that I do believe, its the one where you admit you made all of them up.

In my complete bogus survey spread across RV parks from TX to NY state it appears that 100% of the respondents will not stand behind their diesel dicision

You have zero credibility in the forum. This is kind of like trying to teach a pig to sing. I ain't accomplishing anything and the pig is getiing annoyed.

You guys need to clean up the entire thread as you continue to single me out. I could go back up through and capture some real side splitters. Describing the whine of the diesel as a value-add because it "scares deer off the road". That is one of my favorites. It looks like some of you have ample time, so go look up some of the off the wall quotes depicting the passion of diesel ownership. When I portray the passion of some diesel owners you take offence. I point out current bogus info like the one diesel owner posting 28.7 MPG and you say I don't have any credibility?

My ongoing survey is bogus to the extent that I am not recording owner’s names; make model and year of the diesels that they regret. The sentiments of diesel owners that I am talking to are not bogus.
This entire thread lacks credibility. It’s an ongoing joke thread, but only club members are allowed to contribute? No, wait a minute that’s not a question, that’s fact. If the moderators would initiate some type of baloney patrol to keep it cleaned up, my depiction would have no place. I did not start with the outlandish claims, but when I repeat it back I am the bad guy.

You can pile on all you want, but many of you still refuse to get it. The thread is diesel verses gas, but the thread is being managed to a different outcome. You guys should seriously consider renaming the thread to 100 reasons why owning a Gas truck is dumb or 100 ways to attack anyone who doubts that diesels are better than a BBgasser.

It’s hard to believe that some of you can’t get it through your heads. I am not committed to the BBgasser like some that post here.

I just want someone to come out so to hook our trucks to comparable loads (Big 5th wheel) and do some 0-65 times, a long hill and some highway traveling.

I am sorry, but I can only believe it when I see it when the pride is so intoxicating. If you want to shut me up in this thread, please demonstrate how superior your diesel truck and I will post no more.

Scottz,

Sorry, guess it would make more sense if I stated I live on the border of Kentucky and Indiana. To be fair I seriously doubt mine was the only worthless post on this topic. Again, diesel in Kentucky as of yesterday was $3.99. Diesel in Southern Indiana (4 miles away) was $3.92. Regular unleaded was anywhere between $4.19 and $4.21 in Kentucky AND Southern Indiana. I was hardly comparing the price of diesel to the price of regular gas in two points 1000 miles apart. Perhaps you could get someone to show you this on a map. I was going to ask why you think diesels are offensively loud and smell. I guess your hearing and sense of smell are no better than your reading or geographic comprehension. I honestly do not understand why you guys with the gas engine tow vehicles are so uptight. If you are happy with your gas engine thats all that matters isn't it? What does it matter what truck someone decides to buy for themselves? Why all the anger?

Ponie,

Numerous people have pointed out articles and online content to you showing the pull off times between gas and diesel. You refuse to acknowledge them, then come back with the same "I'll only believe it when I see it" routine. Do you think Trailer Life, or the other sites mentioned are purposefully skewing the results? Do you really think you'd find different results? Is anyone really going to waste a perfectly good day (not to mention quite a few bucks in fuel) just to get you to stop? Do you really think lower HP and Torque are going to keep up?

I already offered to pull next to him in a diesel, loaded with firewood, pulling a 33 foot TT. He refused. He is not going to meet anyone. It is all a lot of hot air. Let him be happy with his gasser, we can be happy with our diesel.

2003 Jayco 308fbs eagle 33' tt, towed by a 2003 Ram 3500 slt, quad cab dually, cummins diesel ho, trailer towing package, with 6 speed manual. Hauls better 1/2, 3 kids, myself, and a 2003 ez go clays car.. I have added so far, neon lights, clearance lights, back up lights, black light, lift kit, mud tires, and everything necessary to make the golf cart street legal. It's now ready to spend the winter in the garage for more mods. More neon, strobe lights, alarm, a pa system, maintance, and whatever else that comes along. This golf cart does wheelies and travels thru 7 inches of mud when need be. Two honda eu2000i gens twinned to supply the electrical power. Latest addition an 04 Honda Goldwing.
