Kendas: What happened to your rr wheel? Factory defect or another PO up to no good?
Factory defect... Bearing seat was machined too thin causing the bearing to round out the seat. Only fix is to have the wheel re-machined and a sleeve put in (easiest cheapest) or have a different year rear wheel "assembly" put on (expensive and not any better than the other fix.)
Well, seein' as how everyone is talking about health, I broke my leg at the knee this last March. The damage was so bad that I have to have my knee replaced on the 29th of nov. While they were doing my pre-surgery tests, they found that I have had a stroke in the area of my optic nerve. Lucky for me it healed by itself and I can't tell any difference. But now they have to run test to see if I can have the surgery without any complications. I don't think I've ever seen so many Dr's. Anyway, thanks for the pics Trish. I've got my RV packed for the winter already, hope you guys have a good winter too! Jer

Geez, is anyone around here healthy? Whole?
I was feeling pretty sorry for myself (because no one else did) until I read this:
How is your knee, Jer? Walking? Canes aren't sexy, House has it wrong.
I wish I felt better than I do. Canes ain't sexy. And House is just plain wrong. About a lot of things. My neuropathy has gotten worse.
So for me sometimes walking is a real adventure. But I figure as long as I can keep it up on two legs I will. My biggest concern? I use my feet to play the pedals of a large pipe organ, as well as my old Hammond RT-3. I would bawl like a baby if I couldn't do that anymore.
I mean, I worry less about walking- I figure I'd just do a "Lieutenant Dan" and get a new "lower end" and just keep rockin'. Isn't that pathetic?
Make sure of one thing. Youth is SQUANDERED on the young. I'm just glad you're still with us. The alternative really sucks. It's OK to feel sorry for oneself on occasion. How many of us ever figured we'd wind up like we are now? Sometimes it's almost laughable, and sometimes it's just so damned lamentable.

Thanks, guys. Broke it 3 ways from Sunday and dislocated it. Surgery's Tuesday, but I've gotta get the swelling down in the meantime.
Sorry to hear about this... I've been laid up some myself, but getting better. Had a wicked upper respiratory infection. Glad to hear you're cripping around- just don't get too happy and mess it all up again...
Make people wait on you. Enjoy it while you can.
I'm not pushing it, I promise. They are waiting on me hand and foot, but I'm completely tired of it. I want to be up and around. I want to be able to carry my own food and drinks. I want to be the one outside working on my vehicles.
Were I able, I'd be doing the lower intake manifold gasket on my Safari while the bf finished up the brakes on the RV.
