Up at the airport they have a tile piece of a map of the entire island. Here's a pic of the tiles that represent Avalon.

Its impossible to RV on the island, though you can tent camp. Its a great, romantic place to go. Hope you enjoyed the pics.

Wow - Yet another morning of wonderful, wonderful pics! Thanks, everyone. Great pictures of food (now I'm hungry), tremendous school house, beautiful children, Catalina :-), etc.

Kathy - You have some big decisions coming up. I'm sure you'll come to a good compromise, and no matter what the outside looks like, you can make the inside the way you like it. Remember, it's the "love" that makes the "home"! Keep us posted.

Marites - Congratulations! Sam is a fine looking boy. I wish for you many happy hours snuggling him!

Wow.....I leave for a week or so and spend two days catching up with all of my fellow posters here on the PPT!! I'll cover them all by saying that I missed my daily dose from you all for the past ten days! Here is what I have had to endure waking up to while in the wilderness of Canada!!!

It's brutal camping, isn't it?! Great picture of the sunrise!

We actually went to Canada and rented a cabin that accomodated six of us and spent the week fishing in cold waters. What a blast though and some fun memories were created. Here is one of my catches....it is 27 inches long although this pic doesn't seem to show that!

This is a 1/4 oz. jig in the mouth of a 37 inch northern pike....look at the sharp teeth!! It is fun to catch these nice sized fish on small tackle....makes it interesting. Releasing the big ones to go back and reproduce aint bad either!

going all around the world with all these nice pics.... I really like this thread.....

Right after we moved from Casa Grande, AZ to Roswell, NM I took this pic. One evening we had a rain shower and the next morning I grabbed my camera and headed outside to see what there might be around to photograph. As someone said along the way here, "you can take a picture of anything". I was walking alongside the street curb and I looked down and this tiny feather and twig caught my eye. To me it looked like the twig had become a safety net for the little feather as it kept it out of the puddle. So I decided to see what kind of pic I could get. I'm squatting down alongside the road, almost laying on the sidewalk in an effort of catching the reflection of the clouds in the whole scene and all of a sudden I realized there was a set of big feet and a set of little feet beside me. I got up on my knees, turned to them and said hello and the man says,"Hi, I live two houses down the street from you and Joe (the man in the house between us) had told me that you just moved here from AZ." I said, "yes". He says, "Well, I just wanted to tell you that here in NM, water puddles aren't that rare." I just said, "oh, ok" and he turned around and went back to his house. I laugh every time I look at this pic thinking of the man that thought because I had come out of the desert that I was enthralled by a water puddle. Anyway, here it is....

and here's a question about protocol and this thread.... I know I have a tendancy of being wordy in talking about pictures... are we just suppose to post a pic without including many words.... I don't want to rock the boat here.... thanks.

I enjoy your stories and eplanations. I think if you were posting only words without the pics you would get fussed at. Do what you feel comfortabl ewith while including a picture.
