Have camped more COE, U.S and State parks 'n lakes over the past 48 years in Northern Minnesota than I can recite.....they're all beautiful. Plan to spend a ton more time there too! Pushing right into Fall's freezing weather is the current plan.

Great photos everyone. I am another one that would like to comment on each one but it would take all day.
As an effort of reconciliation for the last deer picture that I posted which didn't receive the best reviews.........I give you new life:

We just yesterday left Hart Ranch and the black hills of South Dakota. We are on a final fling with our kids before they both start college and leave the nest. We had a blast touring Needles highway and Custer State Park as well as some of the other tourist attractions. The following is just a brief snippet of our time there:
My girls awaiting our tour into Wind Cave-

My DS climbing as high as the needle:

My family under the needle:

At Reptile Gardens:

One of the lakes in Custer State Park:

The stonefaced dead presidents:

Antelope in Custer:

Buffalo in Custer:

The family wanted a pic of me driving through this smallish tunnel:

As nice as Hart Ranch was I did not get any pics of anything in the resort as we spent all the daylight hours outside the place! I had forgotten how much there is to do and see in the Black Hills.
If I remember right we have some snake lovers on here...does anyone want to see some of the snakes from Reptile Gardens?

This tunnel always reminds me of the old Absolut Vodka ads, where there was always something in the picture shaped like the Absolut bottle.
You're right about the Needles Highway being a great drive. For those who occasionally post questions about whether you should take your RV there, please refer to the photo above.

Here are a couple I took today at Kentucky Falls in the Oregon Coastal Mountains. It was a 2 mile hike just to get there, then 2 miles up hill to get out, ugh.
The Upper Falls...
And the Lower Falls...

Lovely, Mokai!
And while the distance varies in the telling, Brett Weston is credited with the observation that "There is nothing photogenic more than 500 feet from the car!"

The sunflowers are beautiful! I love them all.
I also especially enjoyed Lockdoc's girls waiting to enter the Wind Cave, and the fawn--my, what a straight back he has!
