Kenny - Nice cabin with beautiful views of Fall River!
Eric - I only saw one image of Canyonlands National Monument! Beautifully done!
The Silver Bullet got some new shoes today! My truck has 106,000 miles on it, and each set of prior Michelin's went 53,000 miles each before the dealership agreed to replace them. No flats or blowouts, so I'm looking forward to another good run with my new 3rd set!

I made my annual trip to the Salmon River Falls today - the only waterfall in Oswego County. The falls wasn't all that wonderful, but I did get a couple of photos of the stream below it. Which crop of this do you prefer?

or this:

This one, Jon. While the color in the water on the big crop is pretty, it's not interesting and adds little to the composition. It's just a lot of dead space at the bottom of the image. The falls are what attracts my eye, not the expanse of water in the foreground.
I'd also crop out whatever is making that dark vertical shadow on the left side of the photo.
The third shot is very nice. But... I'd have lightened up the yellow foliage just a bit to give the image a tad more pop. Not enough to ruin the peaceful mood set by the picture, but a touch of brighter color would really set off the stream.
Yeah, yeah... everyone's a critic.

The saddest thing in this photo are all the dying lodgepole pine trees on the mountain side at the left of the photo. Literally millions of lodgepoles are dying across Colorado and Wyoming.
That is sad. Why are they dying?

I like this one because it is more focused on the falls. Pan up a bit, and crop the vertical band on the left. If something of interest were in the water in the larger one, then that'd be different.
The second stream pic is really cool. A little more yellow pop adds to the pic, but, how about a bit longer exposure to smooth out the flow in the foreground, instead of it being so choppy?
Beautiful pics, but, since you asked! Believe me, I've been under tougher critique and have learned so much because all the input is accurate! I hope my pics have improved with all the reading I've been doing!

I don't know for sure, but a problem we're having in northern AZ is related to the Bark Beetle.
