WOW

That only leaves me with the Toyota Echo

ANY BAD COMMENTS ABOUT THIS CAR???

AND yes I do like the miata - but I have to loose a little weight, start drinking, start smoking, and cussing plus rev up my sex life to easily get into the car

Guess thats not all bad...

Tom

What suffering? Some of us are not too lazy to shift ourselves, and sticks get better mileage!

well, better mileage depends upon the shifter, don't think there is much difference really.

and the last time I got "tennis elbow", I swore no more stick shifts.
not lazyness, medically necessary.

I went back to your first post and it appears that your 2500 lbs. is just an arbitrary number plucked from the sky??

Why not add a few pounds and have a real selection, or is there some real reason for 2500 and not 2600???

Do not forget the Chev Malibu, Auto, light weight, and pull one fuse and you are good to go.

Unless you fill the tires with helium and take off all the fenders, the Malibu won't come close to the weight criteria!!!!

That's a fair question Sorney1. I have read that there are weight restrictions in some states that mandate you use a breaking system if the toad is over a certain weight it varies per state. I was trying to avoid using a breaking system.

Also, with gas prices skyrocketing I wanted a light weight car since my RV has trouble making it up hills without a toad.

Also again, you are right I just plucked the number from the sky. I know the saturns are right above that 2500 lbs but 500lbs difference between the Saturns and Echo is a lot of weight.

Observation:

It seems that I am missing something. Either no one is towing a Toyota Echo or there is nothing bad to report about them.

The Echo is a fine little car, but just doesn't sell well -- hence minimal (if any) feedback. Being a dealer, I see most folks who shop in the Echo category seem to gravitate towards a Corolla or Civic. Maybe because they are more household names than the Echo, but most probably because the Corolla & Civic actually have some degree of style. The tall-profile, pudgy, tiny-wheeled Echo is a turn-on for very few. Nonetheless, it's a Toyota and just as good a product as any of the others.
