So I thought to myself, "I'll read the first page and see what this is about... and maybe the last page to see where it's gone."

Thank you Richard! Now I'm behind with my work, behind with my sleep, the Puffs tissues have vanished from the house, and my eyes are bloodshot!

Dandy Dan,
You aren't telling me much I don't already know. I've read all your posts, seen your pictures. I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE. Have I got you spooked yet?
I really wish we could make the Branson trip. I've been there several times and always enjoyed it (except for a couple hot August trips), but my wife has never been to the area. But I'm a photographer, and June is filled up with weddings. We're hoping to retire and start fulltiming within the year, but we won't have much time for recreation until that happens. In fact, it's starting to look like we might not make it this year at all.
Yesterday's high here was ZERO. Last night my wife says, "It's warming up. It's still -1, but the wind chill is up to -14." Right now we're enjoying a balmy 29F, but that's just going to make the 5" of snow we're to get tonight a little heavier for shoveling!

Dashonthedash,
Thanks for the welcome. I wish we could have made the Colorado Springs trip. I didn't find RV.Net until this past August when we decided to go fulltiming asap, so I hadn't even heard of Old Fella at that time. My wife does remember seeing the story about Anna II on Denver's 9 News. (I've been giving her day-by-day capsule reports of this thread.)

Richard,
Yes, I'm the Don one. Katy doesn't read RV.Net; she just listens as I read some of the more interesting posts. I sure wish we could make that Branson trip, but you know about the June wedding rush. I'll bet we could exchange some great wedding stories. We enjoy doing them too. The first few years I'd get all weepy at some, just like the mothers of the bride and groom. *sniff, sniff* "Darn cold."

Incidentally, Katy and I have two furbabies, both "rescues" of sorts. Katie (not Katy) is a 15-year-old Yorkie, and Frack is a 12-year-old black cat who is gracious enough to share his home with all of us.

I think we have been there maybe once or twice in two and 1/2 years. It looks as if our bumps were erased?

Just to let you know I am taking Old Fella in Thursday morning to have his teeth cleaned. Dr. Jim will put him under for the cleaning, so let's hope and pray all goes well.

Suzie is in trouble for catching birds in the back yard. Last night when she was called to come in for the night she came running across the yard with a bird in her mouth. When I shouted "NO!" she dropped the bird and came ashamedly into the house. I went out to see about the bird but it had disappeared, so maybe it wasn't hurt.

Last night we went to Augusta to celebrate Robin's birthday. For those who may not know Robin she is my oldest child. She turned 46 yesterday. Anyway when we got home Suzie had been in the laundry and pulled out all of my tee shirts and scattered them all over the living room, she has a thing for my tee shirts.

I will be closing the deal on the book soon I hope. I talked with the publisher yesterday and we are working out some of the details. Suzanne Fogle has to put an ending on it and she and I have to agree on the publishing of it as well.

Anyway I can't say too much about it on the thread so let's leave it at that for the moment. The Old Fella Rescue is still alive and well in Burke County, Georgia with Bruce Storm doing a lot of the input for the organization. Bruce is a very smart man and well rounded in how an organization should be run. I sent word to Bruce yesterday that the book when published will help fund the rescue effort. A shelter is needed here and I would like for Old Fella's legacy to live on.

Okay I have to go for now so I will sign out, talk with you later.

Richard, from your last post it seems that you have distanced yourself from the building of the shelter. I was away for such a long time, I think I may have missed quite a bit. It seams that situations can change very quickly here.
