The time and life you have given Fella has made a huge difference. Even with the osteosarcoma and broken leg, he's still got a drive interacting and wanting to go on the cart. His legacy (and yours) will live.

I, as well as others, will always remember the love you have given to Old Fella and the love he has given back to many human friends and the four legged ones he has met along the way to a better life. I can see him waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for everyone who has been blessed by his plight and Old Fella forever inviting all the four legged doggies and cats into his new world of painless play to come. I will continue to pray for all of you and the others on here having pet health problems. It is through Forums like this that we can see the brighter side of things when it is so tough at times.
It's been a beautiful trip, and I'm gratified to have been here from its beginning. We are all better for this experience, and can surely take pride in what you've done for this one of God's creatures. It's certain that He recognizes it.
Do what you can for our Old Friend, and when he must go, we know he will rest in peace.
I, too, have trouble putting my thoughts into words. Please know that we are praying for you here.
We love you and Fella. Through your love for him, you have shared so much with us. May God give all of you strength.

I would just like to bury my face in his neck and thick black fur and "hug" him all better. I know that is not possible so I will hug my big guy and be greatful that he is healthy and strong. You and Sue have given Fella a wonderful life and the years before you came into his life are a distant memory to him. It will be much harder for you to loose him than for him to loose you...because he will be forever healthy and happy where he is going. He has a lot of friends there waiting for him at the bridge. None of us will ever forget him. I believe ANGELS come into our lives in many forms and Fella was most definitely an ANGEL.

Please realize that the legacy that you and Fella have generated around the country will never be forgotten. The near future will bring much sadness but should also be for a time to rejoyce the fact that this old dog has been given a good home and taken from the cruel world of loneliness. You and Sue have given him the best care that an animal could have ever wanted and you know that Fella loves you as much as you have grown to love him.
You still have the Old Fella Burke County Rescue endeavor that is gaining in strength by leaps and bounds. This would have not even been a thought had it not been for you and one old doggie.
When you sit on the floor and Fella looks into your eyes, you know that he is trying to tell you that he has been blessed to have you and Sue for human caretakers. He is also trying to tell you that he would have had less chance to have good golden years without the love and affection that you and Sue have given.
You may mourn the time when he goes to the Rainbow Bridge but also know that he will then be pain free and able to run and play again and that Levi is there waiting for him. They will have such fun together again.
May God look down on you and Sue and bless you both for the love you have shown and the devotion you have made toward the saving of homeless and suffering animals. You know He is already preparing a place for Old Fella to be happy for eternity.
With heavy hearts we send our prayers and love.
Dan, Lori and Anna
Richard, I really cannot add to what Dan has already said, and others here, just want you to know that you, Old Fella and Sue are in our thoughts and prayers. I know you and Sue will enjoy every minute you have left with Old Fella.

Oh Richard and Sue....I just don't know what to say. I am crying for Old Fella, you and Sue but as I am sitting here I'm reminded of a few things:
Without you and Old Fella there would not have been a Burke County Old Fella Rescue Organization.
Without Old Fella you would not have rescued Suzie, Anna, Dixie and Savanna.
Without you and your rescue of Old Fella, Tia would probably have died lying on the side of the road with a broken leg. Instead she is enjoying a wonderful life with a loving family.
Without your inital post about Old Fella we all wouldn't have gotten to know each other and become as close as we all are on this forum.
We will all cherish the remaining days we all have with Old Fella and we will all be here for you both after his passing. He will go to the Rainbow Bridge knowing he was loved dearly and cared for by very loving people.
I will hold Mika & Suki very close to me tonight as we pray for you both and especially Old Fella.
