I loved the picture of the nose to nose of Fella and Levi. You can just see the communication between them.

Old Fella taking a nap on the couch. This was taken just a few days ago by Sue. I didn't know she had taken it.

I really thought I could read this thread today and not cry. Nope! One look at the picture of Fella and Levi together nose to nose and the tears are flowing again. Such a wonderful old dog that was lucky enough to find such a wonderful couple to love him.

I'm so sorry to hear of Old Fella's passing. His story was an amazing journey - I remember reading that first post and wondering what would happen and, while I haven't posted often, I've always tried to keep up with the adventures of Old Fella. Richard, you and that old dog shared an amazing bond. You gave him the best years of his life and countless other dogs and cats will continue to see the benefit of that for years to come...perhaps even forever. Fella's legacy will continue to grow through the lives he touched. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us.

Sorry to hear about Old fella - I have been following your story for the past few years. You have to know that you gave him a much better life by going back to get him and giving him the love and attention that he so deserved.
I lost my Boston Terrier in Jan and have not mustered up the strength to get another. I was having a very hard time trying to decide if I should make the long drive to the vet to have him put down. It was kinda weird but I had told the wife on Thursday night that I would take him on Saturday morning - He passed on Friday before noon. He knew how hard that trip would have been for me. I got him when he was a pup and he was 15years and4 months old. He was the very best dog I ever had. I have some great memories and pictures. Here's a link to a hard decision documen........ng my struggle to have him put to sleep. It was the same for us -- We are just now starting to put his things away and the healing is better now. We have a digital picture frame and the pictures of him come up form time to time and we get a good laugh and think of him and how enjoyable he was.
Maybe now BoJoe and Old Fella are forever friends just over rainbow bridge.
Best to you and Sue -- God Bless.

I am at a loss as to how to deal with the void that is in our lives and would love to have things back the way there were. Fella is still all around me as I look at the booties and socks that are left behind and his bed in the family room and the bedroom that is empty. I can't find it in myself to move anything or put it out of sight just yet. One day at a time as Sue and I get use to life without Fella.
Thank you for your words of comfort and thank you for letting us know just how many friends Old Fella had and still has. It helps to know so many care.

Richard, are you planning on doing a slide show for the memorial? They've become quite the thing here lately, and I have to say I like them... its a great way to do a retrospective on someone's life.

That is my intention. I want to take the journey from day one to the conclusion of Fella's life. I believe It would be nice for people to see how Fella's life touched so many people.

As Tia and myself headed for Portland this morning (in the big truck working) I couldn't help but thinking that if it had not been for Old Fella & Richard she would not be in our lives. Old Fella truly has changed many peoples lives!

It was suggested that the memorial service wait until the memorial head burst, or plaque is completed before having the service, so I am waiting to see just what that is going to cost and how it will be accomplished. I didn't realize how expensive this could be.
