I am just deeply puzzled and concerned over Charlie's leg. Things have gone down hill rapidly since this morning with Charley. He is in terrible pain and stronger pain medication hasn't helped. I am thinking about leaving Charlie with the vet until we get back from Valdosta. I am going to give the new medication a chance to work over night and then make my decision in the morning.

They may have to take a serious look at some surgery on that leg - if so, I would go for the vet school to do something creative.

I am afraid Charlie will have to stay with Dr. Ford tomorrow until we get home on Thursday. He is still in a lot of pain with the leg. Something has happened and I don't know what it is unless the leg has fractured or something like that. Anyway, I don't see adding to Charlie's misery by making him go on this trip when he can stay in comfort under the doctor's care.

I will let you know something as soon as I find out.

To Dixie flyer and family,

Sorry I'm a little behind the curve, but my condolences to your loss of Old Fella in June. Thank you for everything you did for him and all of the other dogs you have helped in the past. I worked an pet adoption day at our local Petco the other day. My Chargee was a black lab named bear. He was about 7 years old and very over weight. During the morning I went into Petco and bought a brush and brushed him all morning. By Lunch time I had all of the old fur out of his coat and by the time we called it a day at 2:00 pm, he was adopted. I was so glad we got him adopted out, it really felt good. Some times it's hard to place older dogs or black dogs. Bear had two strikes against him, but he hit a home run none the less. I was so happy for him.

Thanks again for everything you have done. Take care! - Eric-

I am so happy that Bear found his forever home. I hope he has many years left to live with his new family.

Charlie is worse this morning so I will leave him with Dr. Ford while we make our trip to deliver Grady to his new family. I will have Doc X-ray again as I think something has happened since last week. I can't stand to see him in so much pain. Okay I have to go for now and I will talk with you when we get back.

Good Morning....
Richard, I hope your travels go smoothly when you transport -Grady- was it?
It is concerning about Charlie and his paw. Perhaps one of the bone splinters has worked its way loose? Hopefully the rest at the vets will help along with new x-rays.
We had been gone at Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. Marvleous look at what hides under the surface of the earth! Dogs were fairly well behaved. Saw one that looked just like Old Fella...or at least what his pictures looked like.
I am planning a combined bday party for my boys. In lieu of gifts we are asking for donations to our local Humane Society. Our guy in charge - I'm sure he has a title - recently was in an accident and the truck was a total loss. They are asking for donations toward this, and I think this might be a good thing for the boys to do. Besides, who needs more junk????
Safe travels for all.....

luvdoggiez, good job on helping Bear find a forever family, getting his coat looking good would have a world of difference for that important first impression and I know Bear felt much better also. Labs are such great dogs.
