Its looks as if Suzie has found a soul mate in Peaches. Both of them are so happy together and get along great. Of Course Peaches is not as rough as Charlie was because she is a lady. Now I am not saying Suzie is not a lady, but she is border line imp at times. Suzie is not as rough with Peaches as she seems to know Peaches hurts in her hips and soon we will have to do something for her.

I am going to get a second opinion before proceeding any further as I don't want to put Peaches through any unnecessary surgery. Anyway right now Peaches and Suzie are happy and playing together with a toy in the middle of the family room.

We are getting better about missing Charlie and Fella, time does heal a broken heart. Thanks to everyone for voting for the Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue. Every morning I vote and then check to see where we are ranked, it's good to have so many friends.

Summer is gone and so are the days of Charlie, Fella and Levi. This picture reminds me of happier days with the fur gang as we camped at Modoc Campground in South Carolina. Now that the year is winding down Sue and I look forward to the holiday season and family. As we celebrate Thanksgiving and then Christmas I will always thank God for the blessing he has given along with the sweet memories of our family.

I vote every day and wonder can you vote more than once the same day, i did it anyway.....
I was so impressed with Susie, the whole time I was standing talking to Sue and RIchard, she just sat nicely and watched me with those soft brown eyes, such a beautiful expressive face. I guess she figured i was ok and she and Peaches started playing with a toy
Richard, perhaps its time to add beloved Charlie to your avatar as I am sure he is at the Rainbow Bridge watching over us all
Charlie and Fella will always be missed, but what a blessing they were/are in our lives

Dogdiva, you can only vote once a day, if we vote more than once we risk the shelter being disqualified. I wondered that also but if you check the rules it is not allowed.
I sure do vote everyday though!

You can, but if you look closely, you'll probably find a note saying that you've already voted today and the last one didn't count.
Their primary control seems to be recording the IP address of the voting computer. So, if you had access to another computer not on the same network...
Better to just enlist a friend to vote every day, too.

Richard, it looks like Peaches is losing weight... Which she would need to do before anything surgical anyway... but I'd also say, wait to make decisions on how much needs to be done, until you see how she is at her correct weight. Extra weight is really hard on joints that aren't working well, and is likely aggravating the problem.

I don't know exactly how much weight Peaches has lost but she is losing some. She is more active and getting around much better. She can now jump up on the couch, which she couldn't do when she first came to live with us. She is running across the yard as she should instead of running stiff legged.

She stays hungry all the time will beg you out of you pants if you let her. In the mornings she is cleaning her bowl and looking for more if she can find it. When I am eating breakfast she and Suzie are watching every bite I take hoping something will fall to the floor.

I think you are correct about her sugery. I want to see how much better she is with less weight before moving to the next step.

Old Fella is 161 overall this morning and 6th in the statein the contest. Keep up the good work. Those other folks are working just as hard to keep Fella in the 6th spot in Georgia so we have to work a little bit harder. If we can get him to the top of the list in Georgia that will also push him closer to the top over all.

Hey Rich! thanks for the update, I vote daily for Old Fella.
Have you considered a beagle/basset mix for next dog????? He is an awesome dog, if we could just get Lady to accept him, I know Susie and Pricess would love him, because he is playful/friendly/loveable
