Richard and Sue, Here is hoping that you, Suzie and Charlie are having a wonderful time this weekend. If you get this, you must have wi-fi and can update us on the fun.

Welcome to the RV.net Forum and the Old Fella Thread, Sabluka. You have joined a continuously growing list of readers and fans of one of the best feel-good stories on this or any other online Forum. Sit back, kick up your feet and prepare to spend a day or so and several boxes of Kleenex.
I think you might be our first poster (on this thread) from Alaska. I visited your beautiful state years ago and have never forgotten it. What part of Alaska are you from?

Welcome Sabluka to the large family of Old Fella. You will get satisfaction from the postings and the true dedication of the Daniels family and the rest of this great family. I have been following this since the inception in September 2005 and am the proud hooman of Anna, the first puppy that Richard retreived from under a dumpster along with her 3 sisters where someone left them without food or water. Maybe there should be the eye for an eye theory used for the inhumane folks that do this to animals. Dump them by a dumpster and let them try to survive without food or water.
Again, Welcome to this wonderful family of animal lovers and to folks trying to continue the legacy of one old black dog and the person who took him in.

I found this on another thread and wanted to share it with the Old Fella folks:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Written by Agrnbrt
Seems like this year has been a rough one for a lot of us with furry and feathered friends crossing the bridge.
I wrote this a while back after loosing Fuzz. We had gone to the local shelter to adopt another cat in Fuzz's memory.
I hope all of you who have lost a little buddy think about this and help change a shelter anmals life for the better.
GIVE ME A CHANCE....
(a shelter animals prayer)
I know that you don't know me.
But since I've caught your eye.
I need to ask a favor.
Please...
Just a moment of your time.
See I am but a child.
I don't want to go to sleep.
My whole life lies before me.
So much to do and see.
I'd like to know what it's like,
to have a family.
Feel the sun, warm on my fur.
A kind hand rub my belly.
All that I ask of you.
Is a chance to look ahead.
A little bit of food, some love.
An old towel for my bed.
If you can find a place for me.
In your home and in your heart.
My unconditional love I'll give.
'Til this world, my soul departs.
Please just one moment of your time.
While I make one last plea.
For I am but a child.
PLEASE don't make me go to sleep.
There are a lot of animals out there that don't have a home.
They are no different then the ones that cost hundreds of dollars in pet shops. Except that they don't have long to live.
Give em a chance. I can tell you from experience. A shelter pet knows when it's be given that chance. And it will be eternally gratefully to you for it's life. And you will feel something from inside that you might never have felt before.
Go on, give em a chance.
In memory of Fuzz.

It was different camping at Modoc without Fella. As I walked the trails and roads inside the campground I couldn't help but think about Fella living here for so long and knowing he had walked the very same paths we were walking on.
Charlie has helped a great deal in the healing process, but tears are still easy to come by.

This was our campsite. It used to be on the water, but not any more!
