DAVE!! great to have ya drop by...come on back and sit down and chat for a while. It was NIP-PY here this morning. Got down to 24 degrees!!
Got all the way up to about 58 degrees. It WAS sunny all day. Hope all of you had a great day..getting ready to watch "my boy's" play the Louisville Cardinals. Yea, the Mountaineers from my home state of WV have a chance to make it a good evening, or they can blow it for me. Ya'll take care out there.

"Just checked in to see what condition my condition was in"..some people would find it hard to believe that old country/western singer Kenny Rogers sang that "hippy-fied" song back in the late 60's.
yo, catch ya later.....

Morning everyone! It's a lovely 32 this morning reaching a forecasted high of 34. Dr appt today so it's a trip to the big city. I'll see what else I can sneak in there as well. There is a Mediterranean food store that I like to go to. Come to think of it I should get the cooler and ice packs ready. I can't buy too much. We're only taking the 3/4ton and it's not an extended cab This may require the 1 ton extended cab. Good time to Christmas shop while the stores are relatively calm. I put a pot of coffee on and some biscuits by the microwave, enjoy. I hope you all have a great day.

Partly cloudy, cool but not frosty.
Had to change shirts yesterday, the heavy flannel one that was so nice the day before was MUCH too warm!
The fence is pretty much done, the stall is built (complete with little feed bunks), the heated waterer is working and cleaned out (the little birdies appreciate that), looks like we go get horses Sunday or Monday.
Coffee in the pot by the radio has a real kick this morning, be careful of that first sip...

Looked in the Thrifty Nickel (local weekly shopper paper) and saw a 2 horse tandem axle trailer for $500, advertised as "so ugly it is cute".
I bought it.
It is painted yellow and orange!!
It IS kind of ugly.
But cute.
Now I have something to do tomorrow; rewire the trailer lights. I wonder why it is that every trailer I buy has to have the lights repaired/rewired?
I know, quit buying used trailers and I won't have that problem, the dealer would set up the wiring to match my truck. I looked at some ads for new 2 horse trailers, no thanks, I'll rewire a used one. Especially a $500 used one!
Used up what posts I had left, and bought 10 more. Got orange tape tied on the fence wire so I can see it(actually, DD and SIL did most of it last night. that was nice of them). So, it is all coming together, we should be ready to go get the horses no problem.
Weatherman is saying cooler and rainy next week. Yeah, we need the moisture, but I can't help wishing it would rain at night and be nice during the day.
I wonder if I should cover the fence charger?
Speaking of chargers, the battery in the Truck Camper seems to have finally taken a charge. Have to check that tomorrow, and put the charger away. Strangest thing, it seems there was a relay or something stuck in the camper. I had a big spark at the battery when I disconnected it, and when I reconnected it after charging a little. Then I started the generator, let it run for half an hour, shut it down, and disconnected the battery again, no spark! I have no idea what was going on! Gremlins, undoubtedly.

MS2, forecast high of 34 is probably colder than the inside of your fridge. How much food do you mean by "much"?
Crossed off lots of chores the last 2 days. Just general yard clean up left, I'll work on the cars when I get back from FL. Rode home tonight from work on the motorcycle. Saw no other bikes on the road. It was toasty warm at 43 degrees with my electric vest!

An electric vest?! DANG, ain't technology grand I thought one of those handwarmers you use to carry around when you were a kid was about the greatest thing ever invented, but then they came out with socks that were heated...just add batteries Kinda took all the fun out of being miserable as a kid when you stayed out all day in the wintertime sleigh riding or just playing. "Those were the day's my friend, we thought they'd never end"...good song.
Jon, sounds like everything is coming together for you, hope it all works out ok with the horses, stalls, food, etc...sounds like on your battery charging episode that you probably did have a relay that was stuck open and you "zapped" it with enough juice, finally, to get it to close to give the battery the charge it needed. If it were me, I'd cover the fence charger.
Shun, have a safe trip to Fla. It should be pretty nice there this time of the year.
Kelly, thanks for the biscuits and coffee, you take it easy out there running around.
I'm at work right now, working 05:30-11:30, temp. this morning was a tropical 44 degrees, suppose to get into the mid 60's..hoping to get some rain early part of next week, again, guess we'll just have to wait and see...Joe, have a safe trip, give us a yell first chance you get.
I hope all of you have a great weekend, take care, I'll catch ya later.

For all you VET's out there, Happy Veterans Day weekend.

DW reminded me we haven't bought halters for the hay-burners yet. Have to do that tomorrow, TSC has some nice ones, fairly inexpensive.
The wiring on the horse trailer was a MESS!! WHY, WHY do people use the "twist and tape" method of connecting wires? I finally got disgusted and chopped the whole mess from the junction block forward out (including the junction block) and spliced in new wires. I just realized that in the last three years I have purchased one utility trailer, 2 boat trailers, and one horse trailer, and have had to rewire and/or replace the lights on all of them. No, I shouldn't count the utility trailer in that, it was a homemade unit, and had never had lights installed. It is simply amazing the lash-ups that some people are towing around!
OK, rant over, the lights work like they should now, and the trailer now has good safety chains (we won't discuss THAT any further!)
Starting to cloud up and get windy, maybe the weatherman is right for once and we will get some rain. It would be nice if it holds off while we get the horses, but what the heck, it's only water, we won't melt, and neither will the horses.
Thought I had found my "dream" Class C, but when I called on it they said it was sold. I wonder how often they update their website. Isn't it almost false advertising to keep showing a unit as available after it is sold?
Apparently not...
Ah, well, the coffee pot is set for about 0600. I'm about to eat the last piece of apple pie, though, so no joy there.
Breakfast tomorrow at Dennys or Perkins or JBs, haven't decided yet. 4Bs closed (bummer), can't go there anymore. HMMMM...could go to Pug Mahon's Irish Pub on First Avenue North, they do GOOD!!
Or, there is always McDonalds...
Decisions, decisions....
Y'all have fun, now, y'heah?

Jon, the DW made some more apple pie, thanks for the coffee. Sounds like your knocking things off your "to do list". Joe, have a safe trip
and have a good time.
It's a beautiful day here, it was a bit on the CHILLY side this morning, temp. was 28 degrees, it's 66 degrees right now and it's been sunny all day. Got the two granddaughters and daughter here right now. Watching a little football, been thinking about cleaning up on the truck a little, but may just put it off until next weekend.
Ya'll take care out there and have a good day, I'll catch ya later.
