You bet, Joe, it is going to be nasty on the roads in the morning. I have the Liberty in "full-time four wheel drive". It helps me go, but doesn't help stop! It didn't rain like the weatherman said, started right off with snow, now they are saying about 3 inches by morning. Temps will be the same, they haven't changed that. Yet. Supposedly the moisture will be out of the area by tomorrow evening, moving south and east. the roads are mostly sloppy at the moment, but that will change as it cools tonight. I WILL have that in mind in the morning when I go to town to pick up DW from work.

Good morning to all, Kelly, looking forward to the pumpkin pie Hope all of you have a great day and a Happy Thanksgiving weekend. I got to work this morning around 4:45, heading home around noon, we'll roll out of the driveway around 1:00, hopefully, be at the campground by 3:00. Sounds like a plan. This is the "maiden voyage" for the 5er, hope everything works ok, it did on the PDI, but that wasn't for an extended time. I got to figure, at least, according to most people, that the HR, is a "better" 5er, then the Coachmen Somerset that we had. Though, the Somerset was loaded out and the only problem we ever had was with a slide motor "going" bad, Coachmen replaced it and even gave me a 2nd. battery....all free. I had two Coachmen Somersets for a little over 5 yrs, and mine were great, hope the HR is as good.
It was EXTREMLEY foggy this morning. Temp. was 42, suppose to get into the low 70's...same for tomorrow, Thursday looks like a chance of rain with a low in the 40's and highs in the low 60's..then it appears the temps. are going to drop into the low 30's from Friday through Sunday, with highs in the 50's.
Hey Jon, Kelly, ya'll be careful in that white stuff. Enjoy it, just be careful. Joe, have fun in Yuma and have a safe trip. Shun, Rosie, hope ya'll are ok, again, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you...Lord willing, I'll be back in here Sunday sometime. They offer WiFi at the campground, but I'm too cheap to pay what they want for it, if something changed, I'll be back in here before Sunday

Jim, I was hoping to get in early enough to make coffee and set some danish out before you left. So now there's a lot to go around for everyone who pops in today. It's a chilly 26 this morning. Not sure what the roads are like yet. We're being fortunate so far as the "white" stuff is concerned. It could stay like this until Spring. Somehow I know that's not going to happen.

The owner stands beside the service tech as they look over his vehicle. The service tech looks over and says to him. " I know why your vehicle won't start. The warranty ran out yesterday"

Just something to start the day with. Take care all.

About 30 degrees this morning, still snowing. It looks like we will exceed the 3 inches they said we were going to get, if we haven't already.
I may have to go get some starting fluid to get the snow thrower going. I don't like to use that stuff, but there are times...
I wonder if the old Ford will start? I could use the rear blade to clear the lane and driveway.
Shoulda went South! I have never been much of a winter person, even less so now.
Ah, the joys of life in Montana. Come to think of it, I AM South of where we used to be. They got the snow the day before we did. It's all good...

Looks like I'll have snow waiting for me when I get back to the big O! Just finished two days at Disney world. Weather was in the upper 70's with low humidity. Heard they had about 45K visitors each of the days I was there in the park, and there are 4 parks! I liked the animal kingdom better than the magical kingdom. I liked the conservation message, and could only take so much of "if you believe enough your wishes will come true" mickey mouse stuff. Kids were totally worn out. Will have turkey day here in FL with my sister, hope I can avoid overeating (sigh).

Oh, I have to report on my first experience using a GPS gadget. It is a real hoot! I don't have to get out the map or debate the best way to go. I don't have to write down the name and number of any hotels. Just enter the desired info into the unit and you have your answer in a few seconds! I borrowed this unit from my father in law, plan to get one myself now.

Shun, you know better, there is no way to avoid overeating on Thanksgiving. One shouldnt even try!
Clear tonight, supposed to get down to 5 degrees, 10 below windchill. Of course, wind chill only applies to exposed skin, but still...
High tomorrow only in the 20s, so they say.
We are going to have a "munch and nibble" thanksgiving here. the turkey is already in the oven, so we will have cold turkey, fresh vegies, fresh baked pies and cookies, all the good stuff. I may prepare my infamous (high sugar, high calorie) candied yams with marshmallow topping. I definitely have to make a batch of mince-meat filled sugar cookies.
Dinner's ready, gotta go...

Oohh, candied yams, mmmm. That's one of my weak spots Jon. I'm going to do a session on the treadmill tomorrow before all the festivities. Like spitting in the wind, right?

Not at all, it is a good idea to burn off some calories before stoking up. Besides, a little workout will enhance the appetite.
We figure instead of gorging at a big meal, we'll just munch and snack all day. Not so much guilt that way. I think.
what the heck, it sounds good.
For my candied yams I use canned sweet potatoes, layered in a baking dish. Each layer has butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, and maybe a little dark molasses. Then, after it has been in the oven long enough to get hot, a layer of mini marshmallows is put on top, and back in the oven to melt and brown the marshmallows.
Have a wonderful day.
The coffee pot is set for 0555 as always, should be ready by 0605.
Speaking of coffee, went to IHOP this morning for breakfast. We try them about once a year, just to see if they finally have decent coffee. Answer: no, they don't. Still colored hot water. Everything else was great, but the lousy coffee spoiled it. The waitress doesn't like their coffee, either, but says headquarters tells them what to use so they can't change anything. Yeah, I told them about it on a comment card.
Ah, well, perhaps we'll try them again next year.
