Great day just staying home. Had some ice melt off the driveway, temps up to around 34. Put up some pictures, looked at some home videos from last summer. DW made some yummy chicken noodle soup for dinner. Thinking of desert now.
Son had his first taekwondo tournament yesterday. Placed second in his age group (7). Pretty good for only 4 months of classes, heh?

Just goofing off today. Like any other day. Took my hacksaw out and did some modifications on my tow hitch, and reconfigured the safety chain on the tow bar. That is something I have been putting off for about 5 weeks, but now it's done. Weather is really getting nice out. I am hoping that is the last of cold weather around here. Need to clean out the garage before we can go camping, just need to figure out where to put all of that junk. Have a great day.

Went to the first garage sale of the year Saturday. Got a Nelson tractor-type sprinkler, and a worm drive 71/4 inch Skilsaw. Saw had a bad switch, took it apart today, cleaned the internals of the switch, and it works fine. Someday I will have to get a new switch, but for now it is good to go. GOOD GRIEF that worm drive is powerful!! I may get rid of my regular 7 1/4 inch saw.
Oh, yeah, paid $10 each for the sprinkler and the saw.
Gorgeous day, sunny and kinda warm.
Carch y'all later...

Great deals there Jon! I like to troll on craigslist for deals too. Hope to find a nice scooter for cheap.
Another quiet afternoon here, temps may get up to 17! Warm weather is coming, right? Maybe I'll get started on putting a new cane seat on an old rocking chair. I've had this project for about 4 years now, low priority you know.
Wondering also how to run some speaker and video wires without cutting drywall, yet making it look good. Maybe some kind of flexible conduit?
Another gorgeous day. If this keeps up, I gonna have to load the camper and head for the hills...
No, gotta get a load of hay first.
Shun, I don't know how to run sound system wires. Mine are just laying on the floor next to the wall. I have seen surface mount wire raceways, but I don't think they look all that great, even when painted to match the wall. With all the wireless technology we have these days, why hasn't somebody built a good, inexpensive, wireless speaker system? Then again, maybe there is. I haven't been looking, so I don't know.
I guess I'll look around the forums for a bit, then go order the prop for my boat...
Hello everyone, guess I got too lazy to post. Nippy this morning, 32 degrees, got up into the mid 40's, but with the wind blowing, it felt cooler then 44 degrees. Sunny though, no rain in sight for now.
Hope all of you had a good day. They make quite a few 5.1, even 7.1
sound systems now that have wireless rear speakers. They even sell a hook up for your receiver that can make your existing rear speakers,
"wireless", though it is about $300 at Best Buy. I've seen vinyl conduit runs that they sell at Lowes and Home Depot that adhese to the wall, most people run them along the baseboards, you can buy 15,30,45 and 90 degree angles also to head them in any direction you would want, run it up the wall, on the ceiling and back down the wall if you have to go past a doorway. You can get it in several colors, or paint it the color of your wall's. I've used it before and, if installed properly can hide several pair of audio and video cables and looks pretty doggone good. Hope that might have helped you out some Shun.
The DW had to go to Greensboro today and won't be back until Friday,
seems the company she works for has a property there and the Property
Manager just decided to quit..and just left.....DW "kinda" got volunteered to take care of the property till Friday afternoon...so, it's me and the two dogs...I think, with my survival training tactics,
that I JUST MIGHT be able to make it....ya'll keep me in mind
Traded the 05 Mitsubishi Endeavor for an 07 Mitsubishi Outlander. You can put this in 4 wheel drive, or stay in 2 wheel drive, meaning, better mpg then the 07'...got a heck of a deal and it's a good looking vehicle...even has a sunroof and a DVD player, which the grandkids love...(man, wished we'd had something like that to keep the kids entertained back in the 70's and early 80's when we were taking a long drive on a vacation....I look back now and am kind of glad that in the 50's and 60's growing up, due to no computer games, computers period, gameboys or whatever, we spent almost all our spare time outside, either playing baseball, football, basketball, just games that kids played back then, riding bicycles, sleigh riding, you know, basically lived outside back then. Rarely were you inside, wasn't no where near the TV to watch back then. I believe it was a good thing..I digress......got to let the dogs out, ya'll take it easy, Joe, take a break every once in a while...Jon, thought I told you about the "bragging" on the higher temps down there in Texas
I'll drop back in sometime tomorrow.

-7 this AM. Going to work but kids are out of school due to the cold.
Yes, Jim, I grew up outside like that too back in the 70-80's. Trying to get my kids outside more all the time.
Thanks for the tip on the wireless option. I'll check into it.
Warmer weather by the weekend? I'm ready to get the Ducati out already, RV needs some loving too!
Sadly, I have to report a failure. Went out this morning to replace a couple rotted 2X6s on the pasture fence. Tried to use the worm drive saw, and the switch would not work. I knew I would have to get a new one eventually, but it would have been nice to get to use it once or twice first.
I guess tomorrow I will go to town and get a new switch from the tool repair place. If I can find the store. Haven't been there in years.
Another gorgeous day. Started out cold and frosty, but warmed up nicely. Got the fence fixed, and cleaned up some of the leaves and sticks from the weeping willow tree. Those trees are pretty, but awful messy.
The horses ate the honeysuckle vines, so will have to replant them this year.
Fired up the Vulcan 750 yesterday, rode it out to the road and back.
the Ariens snow thrower threw a traction drive belt. sometime between now and next fall have to get a new pair of belts for it.
Added Sept. 20th and 21st to our plans for this coming year. That's the dates for the Lincoln Rod Run, a car show in Lincoln, Montana. We happened on it by accident last year, LOTS of really neat old cars and hotrods on display. We only spent an hour or so there last year, this year we may go for both days. Might stay at Copper Creek Campground, a back country camp about 15 miles from town. We'll take the Rubicon to run back and forth, and the fishing is good up there, too. But then, if we stay at the RV park in town, we could have full hookups. May have to think about this a little bit. Forest service campground, eat my cooking; in town, several restaurants...
Decisions, decisions...
Hello all I thought I would drop in and say hello. HELLO.
Just wanted to let you know I haven't fallen down or up any stairs of late and with the temperatures we've been having up here I haven't frozen to the sidewalk; yet! This morning would have been a good morning for it. Just wanted to let you all know how lucky you are.
When I brought the dog in this morning it was -47 with the windchill.
She has alot of fur on her but she was shivering, poor girl. I'm calling in my favors now for some warm weather. I just can't seem to get warm; maybe by spring. Well at least we have the weather to complain about. When I don't have to wrap myself up in a couple of blankets I'll come down and catch up on the thread. I've been too long away from the heating pad. Talk to later.
