I'm not sure about Mexpro, but it's been my experience with some of the others that, yes you need separate policies. However, its my understainding that you need to tell them about the toad when applying for the RV policy. That way, the toad is covered by the RV policy when it's being towed. and covered by the separate toad policy when it's being driven.

I have been in Mexico many times an every time I go I used a company that insured the driver not the vehicle. In other words you will be insured no matter what vehicle you drive is if it has a USA licence on it.I have a 40 foot DP motor home and tow a Jeep and my insurance policy is all ways about U$S 80.00 for both with the legal attachment with it for one full year. The person (broker I guess)is Osvaldo, the company name is "Ada Vis Global" phone # 800-909-4457. Bill

I have a question...I have been told to only insure my motorhome and tow going and coming..The rest of the time the motorhome sets in the RV park..So for a two week period..2 out of 14 days Motorhome and tow....Than 12 out of 14 days Toad..Insurance co`s don`t like to do that and I think the reason is they make a lot less..Why would I need insurance setting in a RV lot...

The liability insurance for a Motorhome and a car for one year in Mexico cost about $83.- dollars and you are cover all the time park or not, I think it is very inexpensive comparing to other companies, but this it is my personal opinion. I hope you have fun on your travels. Happy Holidays..!!. Bill

I cannot understand why anyone would enter Mexico in a decent vhicle with only liabilty insurance. Would you drive in the USA with jut liability? As for buying insurnace just for the day in and out: Accidents, fires and explosions do happen in RV parks. Especially the parks with palapa roofs. If you value your vehicle get full coverage.

moisheh,
I agree but; some of us have U.S. Comp/collision that covers our rigs in Mexico. So all we need is the Liability/legal. Of course I don't know if the people on this thread have that kind of insurance.
For instance, my coach has Mexico coverage but my toad doesn't. So I get full Mexican insurance on the toad and just liability and legal on the coach.
