China Hat Campground at East Fort Rock Trail System
Central Oregon, just outside of Bend
43°39'26.16"N
121° 2'12.36"W
Website Here
Over 300 miles of trails; hard pack, gravel, pumice and rocks. Great scenic views, narrow challenging trails and open play areas including climbs and rock crawls. Campground we stayed at, China Hat, didn't have water or bathrooms (RVs a must).

Great place to ride, probably best in Fall & Spring during the rainy season to limit the dust.

Forced Family Fun... They'll thank you later for it!

Thought I would share.
There is a site where people can share coordinates that I was a beta user and enjoyed immensely. I have been using it for trips I have taken all over the world.
It may be useful for this community too.
www.navitraveler.com
Give it a try if it helps.

Take care !

The coors are in Degree, Decimal Minutes. The Garmins I have seen allows you to change to the different formats.
Degree-Minutes-Seconds DDMMSS 82* 30' 45"
Degree-Decimal Minutes DDMM.MM 82* 30.75'
Decimal Degree DD.DD 82.5125

Hi all,
I am in the process of planning a 9 day family vacation to the Durango Colorado area in late July '07 with a group of about 16 people. (3 5th wheel Toy Haulers 33' - 40' and a 30' Motor home) Ideally, I would like to find a place in relative close proximity to Durango or Silverton that we can dry camp for about 4-5 of the 9 day trip. We have ATV's (Utility and Sport quads) and UTV's that we would like to be able to ride on trails near enough to the campgrounds that we can leave directly from camp without having to trailer the vehicles elsewhere. We would also like to be (ideally) within about a 45 minute drive of the Durango area in order to enjoy activities there. Someone suggested Eureka but it looks a little barren there to me. (I could be wrong) We are looking to camp in a somewhat wooded area but again we want riding trails nearby and we need to get a 40' TH in there...Does such a place exist? If so, any information you could provide would be wonderful. Maps or GPS coordinates would be outstanding if available or if nothing else, maybe some information on where else to look if this is not the right place.

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
