I think all the manufactures go to the fabric and carpet mills and buy the fabric that did not sell & buy it all cheap.

Then the go get some mid west designer who thinks squares and circles are the future.

We looked at Jayco's and had to choose the least obnoxious colors, gold swirls- I am glad that deal did not go through, Jayco used to have very homey interiors-

80 grand, msrp - is a lot of money to send out with the cheapest of furnishings

Hey - what's with the crack about "mid west designer"?? I'm right in the heart of the midwest and I think the interiors are gaudy and ugly - Mid west does not equate with bad taste! (that would be like me saying "only hippies & radicals live in Washington state!")

we have had our winnebago view for 6 weeks now and love it. everyone who sees it comments on how light and bright it is. we have the durango denim with the washed maple and love it. most of the fabrics, etc. in RVs are pretty awful, but we actually like this! jim and judy

I agree, the interior design of motorhomes has nothing to do with midwestern tastes. Motorhome interiors appear to be designed as an afterthought by male engineers after a few, perhaps many, beers. There is no other possible explanation.

One solution is to buy an used motorhome. Then the trip to a local upholstery shop doesn't seem quite so decadant

Our Winnebago has a design we can live with, which is good, since we bought it for the floorplan and sure can't afford to recover everything now. There are designs swirls or whorls or whatever you want to call it, that would be bloody awful if the colors weren't beige and stone. The oak is just basic and doesn't have raised panels. For the most part the interior seems light and feels open and neutral.

We were in a couple of Jaycos when shopping, that had the exact same floorplan, but dark and deep colored interiors. Those didn't do much for me. It seems like the more expensive the rig gets, the more glass, etching and mirrors it has. Kind of like a 1970s swinger apartment. :-)

I am so glad I am not the only one that thinks the interiors of these RVs are so horrid. Even Airstream was slipping in the 90's. The newer B class airstream "sprinter" type models are super sharp, but they're $100k, and they don't make a class C.
For some reason the designs are stuck in the 70s-80s. I think even the 60's styles have more class than the current stuff. This is the biggest hurdle for my wife when we go shopping.
I really think the solution is to buy something older and re-cover, paint, and modify to your liking. Maybe take it to a boat refurbisher, and have them deal with it?

I think the four winds has a nice looking interior, but I agree - It seems most of the interiors look like someone tried way too hard. Simplicity would be a good start for most designs.

I also have a beef about why carpet is installed? It seems like its just made to get filthy dirty. Whats wrong with a good vinyl.

We seen booth material by Four Winds that was a nice color, but after a few people sat on it at the show the fabric started to stretch and wrinkle.

Totally agree on the vinyl, they could go with full impregnated vinyl that has nice color and lasts forever, bot noooooooooooooooo they go to the remnant bin and buy el-cheapo !

Check this out:

http://www.fleetwoodrv.com/tiogaslx/

It's much more upscale than any other CLass C i've seen.
