Well, that was discouraging to find out about! I hate having my number come up in anything but the LOTTO! Hopefully a simple retrofit will be possible but somehow I doubt it.

Maybe that burned Jayco we saw the pic of several months ago was a victim?

On Edit-

Jumped the gun. Model and Product numbers were there but the serial number was not in line. I mistakenly used the Product number and it was a hit in the Serial number area. As Chuck_S mentioned on the Tech Forum our HTTS are too new. Although that is not to say old(er) anything could not be installed but three years does make a dif.

The link said they stopped manufacturing them with the higher wattage in 2003.

Your 2006 has a listed number???
How long do they store these things and call them new???

If I read the info from the link correctly, this only effects TWO door Dometic fridges? I checked a couple of the model numbers and they were all 2 door models. Haven't made the trek over the hill and through the woods to where the hybrid is parked to check serial numbers.

Serial number and model number information. Grillmeister reminded me that the question has popped up in threads in other forums, and suggested I get the info into them. Two quotes from posts in the thread in Tech Issues:

Grillmeister wrote:

I got through to a representative at Dometic this morning, I was reluctantly transferred a couple times. The only way I was able to convince them to connect me to someone regarding the recall was to tell them I would post the information on the RV.NET Forum and possibly save them a few hundred phone calls. I was finally connected to a gentleman by the name of Brad Sergeant, I explained the question about either being on the model number list and not the serial number list or on the serial number list and not the model number list.

He said you have to be on BOTH lists to be involved in the recall. I asked since my unit was on the serial number list but not the model number list they must use the same concurrent serial numbers on different models, he said yes they do.

I might also add that everyone I spoke to did not seem very happy discussing the topic.

Hope this helps.

I should have chimed in about serial numbers- the way Dometic does serial numbers is the first number is the year, the next two numbers are the week, and the remaining numbers are the numbers for that week- IOW, 4253407 would be the 3407th product built in the 25th week of 2004 (or 1994, or 1984, but the products take care of decades).
Every product Dometic builds goes in to that numbering system, so even air conditioners would have serial numbers in the affect S/N range.
Heck- I even have a Dometic serial number .

BINGO! I have matching M/Ns and S/Ns that are in the recall. Already called and left my info at Dometic. My main worry is that I had a seasonal site last year and left shore power hooked all summer and the fridge running on 120v power. I will be taking my Roo and going to Florida for a week over Christmas and will have the fridge on LP while traveling.

If I am reading some of the posts regarding this recall correctly, I may be placing myself in the scenario they are worried about. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
RLD
