My unit isn't affected, but I plugged in serial and model information for one that was...looks like they give some good information on how to handle it until the repair kits are completed.

I'm just glad that I know where I stand...

Repeating rvtraveller2's post with a little extra.

Update

The recall info is on Dometic's web site: Dometic Recall

Note: "7. If you previously paid to repair or replace a Dometic refrigerator that failed due to this defect, you can be reimbursed for your costs pursuant to Dometic“s Pre-Notification Reimbursement Program. To be eligible for reimbursement under that Program, you must complete and submit the required form and provide the necessary documentation. The Program and form can be obtained by calling 1-888-446-5157."

Good news for us, looks like we're in the clear too. Hope it's an easy fix for those units that are affected.

I just got my recall notice in the mail today. They say that parts to fix it will be available by April 18th. So now I have to make an appointment, wait for the parts and wait to get worked in to someone's schedule. Something tells me that I will miss out on some camping this spring.

Ugh!

OK, brothers and sisters I just got off of the phone with a local reputable trailer repair company. My unit is affected and I have a family outing planned around mid May. I know that Dometic said that they would have the fix ready by mid April and I wanted to call and make an appointment to get my trailer in right away.

The gal on the other end told me that Dometic has informed their dealers/repair shops that they would pay only $40 for each recall but then did not tell them what the "fix" would actually involve. So, the shop is waiting to hear more from Dometic and I am waiting to make an appointment. The shop I talked to said that if the repair was involved, they probably won't be accepting the work on behalf of Dometic. You can't blame them.

Last thing. If it is just $40 you wouldn't think that it would be a big job. We will see.

I had a call last week from a someone asking for a replacement value on a Sooner Trailer claiming the refrigerator had caught on fire, so I would take this seriously.
