Now onto Rachel Caine's "Windfall", book 4 in the Weather Warden series. Prior to that was Glen Cook's "Sweet Silver Blues", first book in the Garrett, P.I. series.
EDIT: Fixed the authors name for "Sweet Silver Blues".

Just finished "The Soloist" by Steve Lopez. I saw an interview with the author on TV and had to get the book. It's nonfiction, hard to describe, but there are many reviews online. Here's one:
THE SOLOIST by Steve Lopez
It's a real page-turner with so many different elements you'll find yourself thinking about it long after you finish reading. It's a personal account of a societal problem there's no easy answer to, but God bless this man (Lopez) for not looking the other way.

Current reading is "Fidler Fair" by Mercedes Lackey. This is a collection of shorts.. Due to time constraints and the amount of time I spend reading and replying I'm reading one story at a time, Next installment is the "Title Track" as they say in the audio world.
NOTE: http://www.baen.com/library/
Yup, they have the book. It's an RTF file
NOTE: they have a lot of free books there.. The site was set up by a science fiction author (Eric Flint) whom I have had the pleasure of meeting. Some of his books are there as well as a lot of other books, Many different authors not all science fiction (in fact not many science fiction)
A good stop to shop.
Of course if you fall into a series (Example. One title is "Honor of the Queen" and get hooked....... You gonna have to go to Amazon.com or Boarder's books for the rest of 'em (But then I've read most of that series)
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

I get my books at half.com, a recent one only cost 75ยข and was brand new. Even with the s/h added, it was an excellent deal.

I'm reading William Least Heat-Moon's "blue highways". The title refers to the color of the secondary roads in the road atlas the Author used when looping around the US, escaping a failed marrage and a deadend teaching job. I think many here have read it. It is very, very well done, an American classic road tale! The NY Times book reviewer said,"A stunningly good book!" I agree.

That's a great book! It's been a while since I've read it... I'll have to see if I can find it (on my shelves) and re-read it now. His book is what got us started on avoiding freeways when traveling.
I just finished One Man's Wilderness by Dick Proenneke. I'm going to get his DVD now, and see what he filmed during all those years at Twin Lakes.
