Thanks to everyone for the comments, but I think my camera is giving the cabinets more justice than they deserve.

My wife is great with tiling projects (did her mom's whole kitchen backsplash and countertop and her bathroom counter), and she's going to do a mosaic-style counter directly over the green.

I may replace the hardware and the carpet/linoleum and see how it looks.

Any way you slice it, the couch is getting replaced. The cushions are NASTY from sitting so long, and the pattern is horrible and stained.

BUT, my wife is BIG into retro-style stuff so we may do a faux-70's/modern deal... who knows?! We are at the design part of this project anyways, so there is plenty of time for ideas!

At any rate, can anyone recommend a good aluminum polish? I'm going to get started by refurbishing the bare aluminum "stripe" down the sides and around the back to a mirror finish. Should provide a nice contrast to the semigloss paint I have picked out.

Sounds like a great plan! You are very lucky to have a wife so talented to be able to do the tiling for you! Please do share photos (if possible) when you have your renovations completed. I really would love to view them.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the response. We have stayed at Ocean Waves for the past two years and wondered about that little beach shack...so this year I took the pic. Yep, a wonderfull campground and we'll be back.

I saw this VW camper for sale today. I don't know what year it is and he wants $6500. It's not the original color and the odometer showed 66k miles. It seemed to be in pretty good shape.

That's a nice looking Mustang behind it too.

Rubiranch, Nice VDub, really nice shape from the looks of it. Can't help you on age but I would think 60's to 70's Don't think any later that early 70's as after that it would not meet crash tests.

My father had one for a few years and him and mom travelled all over with it. In theirs the cabinets were all behind the driver and bed over the engine at the back. His had a raised roof (about 7-8") and even had a little stove for heating. If I recall right he used charcoal briquets and it did a good job in that amount of space. Only problem was the 1400cc engine that put out maybe 40hp on a good day, it had a hard time getting out of it's own way and passing took planning and hopefully a good downhill stretch not that he was ever in that much of a hurry
