Yes, duct tape, plumber's tape, and zip ties are a must for any rv toolbox.

Put your emergency flares and reflectors in a curbside storage area.

First of all, thanks for all the tipe. My wife and I just bought our first MH and we pick it up on Wed of this week. The one tip I can think of to give (is because it was left this way in the RV we bought) is using a tension curtain rod (the kind you spin and they open or close and clasp between to surfaces) and they left them in the refigerator to keep stuff from falling out once you stop and get in. I thought that was a nifty idea.

Haven't seen this one yet.
When refueling diesel wear a pair of surgical booties over your shoes. It looks silly but you'll leave the diesel smell outside.
I also use a pair of neoprene gloves (cut short) when fueling diesel.

We bought some foot stools from Target (they're cloth, but dark, so they don't show dirt) where the top comes off and they have storage space inside.

They are great for the kids to put up their feet when we are traveling (keeps them off the couches) and also gives them a place to put their "stuff"...as well as to store their travel blankets and/or a great place to store sheets/blankets for their beds.

They are also great to use as extra seating when we have visitors or for the dining table when we don't want to lug out the other 2 chairs.

Never use WD-40 on jack shafts it DOES eat the seals
Use boards under the jacks so they dont have to lift so far
Face the search light backwards so it doesnt get broken/bug splattered
Use a kitchen timer when flushing the black water tank and keep an eye on the level lights
Use moving pads all over the floors of storage bays 6 years later the carpet still looks new

In my walk-around, I check the storage bin doors to make SURE they are latched. It is an embarassment to have one of them open while driving down the road. It has happened to me twice! I also have a placard that I made up and placed it on the dash. I have typed the normal engine and transmission temperatures. A quick check of both the card and gauges tells you immediately if something isn't right. Jim.

I read somewhere that the clorox and water doesn't stay potent too long in the bottle. Might be a good idea to change the content occassionally so it really works.

Clorox has a shelf life of 6 Months.
