Can I leave the trailer and camp set up to go for a senic drive (4 hours)?
What precautions should I take?
What's your experience with leaving your "stuff" for a few hours?
I usually do not leave anything valuable sitting out, but sometimes I forget and it is still sitting there when I get back. Just shut and lock the trailer door and off we go.
Oh, BTW, there is no place to boondock in Colorado

We have been boondocking New Mexico, Arizona and old Mexico for over 40 years. Only lock up if gone at night. Had a coffee pot taken in Mexico once, that's all. In our part of the woods if you see a tent, trailer or camp of any kind you can assume the owner is armed and 90% of the time you will be correct. Most crooks won't risk getting caught.

We chain our genny and that's it. Of course, we lock up the unit and do leave the dogs in about half the time. No issue with our only two years doing this. Well, that's in the ONLY spot we found where we could actually boondock in Colorado. I won't say where that is, sorry.

The ONLY boondocking in Colorado is in Walmart parking lots, and I'd lock up everything there, including the family.

See. That's why I left Colorado. I found soooooo many more places here in Ohio to boondock
It makes me wonder how I could have spent 18 years of my life living there.

>>no boondocking in Colorado
They are joking! They don't want folks to discover their favorite boondocking spots in Colorado. I have a bunch of sites ... but I can't tell you about them ... er, ah, on second thought, they aren't in Colorado ... they're in Ohio ... along side the previous posters.
