WOW! The U.S. Economy must be really bad if some people can't even afford to pay $10.00 to $40.00 dollars for one night of legal camping.

Have fun
Dave

I'm with WX2G... for one niters only, we've always used an rv dealer. Of course we ask first and have never been turned down. Some of them will even lock you in for the night!! LOL For you bikers, we've also used Harley dealerships when hauling the bikes. Not only welcomed, but have been enouraged to stop in anytime! They always put us out back with the servie truck and have never had a problem. Just another 2 cents worth....

If I could find places that charged $10, I wouldn't think twice. It tends towards the $40, which is just a ripoff.

Wal*Mart is legal in most places. Ask first, as some jurisdictions ban it.

Anyone have any tips on how to give more money (bribe?) to the State Parks service to camp more than 14 days (at a time) in Florida?

Hey not only that Matthew_B, but I've learned not to keep driving when I'm hitting that wall. I pull over at the first safest exit I can and rack out as soon as I can.
I used to drive all over looking for a place to sleep when I didn't have a bedroom attached to my driving vehicle...

Things are sooo much easier when you have a generator to run the A/C when traveling in the heat 'cause there isn't near the ventalation in a camper as in a tent.

...no can do. Your license plate/name is registered on registration. I know some States go as far as checking. Further, some States will not allow you more than 14 accumulated days from different State Parks without the 45-day provision!

Imagine that?

Don't know it this will work in Florida, but if you can catch the ranger while he's driving through the CG and no other state employees are around, just mention that you would like to stay longer than park rules allow. If the ranger takes his hat off and sets it on the picnic table or truck hood or whatever open end up and then turns his head to look away from the hat, that is your signal to put some money in it. I would suggest putting about $50 in it. If the ranger is on the take, he will put the hat on his head, money and all. If he ain't on the take, you are likely to be hauled off to jail for attempted bribery of a state official.

Good Luck,
Brad
