Well, I'm days away from a dune trip to the Oregon coast and Dunefest and I finally got tired of dragging around the ladder on my 3612ds from outside to inside and trying to stow it. So I went and got 1/2" pipe (3/4" OD), 2 ft long, cut it in half. Then took my tubing cutter and split the ladder 1/2 between the steps above the second set of attachment points. Drilled and bolted the bottom, the top half slip fits and gets pinned. Hooked it up on the outside and it held my 225 pound butt (I was kinda nervous). Then took and mounted the ladder inside as shown. The pics came black and white somehow, but I couldnt tell thru the lens because it has been GRAY out, raining and raining. Summer in Washington....

What kind of hooks did you use to attach it to the wall?

SWEET MOD! Exactly what I was looking for. I SWEAR the ladder in the model I saw was already in half... but as delivered I got a full length ladder that took up the WHOLE garage on the diagonal!

What kind of 1/2 pipe was that? Galvanized gas pipe? I'll be doing that mod next week. I had some aluminum rod I was going to use but it was just a little too small.

I used a piece of 3/4 copper pipe. Fits inside just fine.
