ABSOLUTLY!! Even though I almost fell as previously stated, it was wet and I was the one who was careless, rushing, whatever. It is not a fault of the design. Everyone here would have no problem navigating scissor steps if careful. It is user error not faulty design.
I believe that the purpose of this thread is to highlight that this type of component must be used carefully. It is not a faulty design and there is certainly no need to involve a Government entity for what clearly is carlessness of the user.
But even if you had folding or rigid stairs that were very stable, had two hand rails, tread grips, finger guards, etc... I would be willing to bet that somebody would fall off of them eventually. Reason? We are humans... and we don't always think and do smart things.

Yes. My wife slipped off of the fold-down/flip-down steps on our Lance a couple of weeks ago. She was trying to exit the camper while carrying too much stuff and missed the trailer hitch she was trying to step on. Could have been bad, luckily it wasn't. She got a couple of bruises and scrapes.
Wife fell when she was coming down the steps. I installed a folding grab handle that she can easily reach now. I put a grooved 2X4 under the steps to take care of the slant.

As evidenced by all three of my kids who have managed to crash down the steps of my camper (flip down with no skid plus hand holds on both sides). Apparently the "be careful it's raining" warnings weren't for them.
Yep, slipped on our first set of scissor steps that didn't have any non-skid on them, just the diamond plate pattern. The current set has the non-skid pads in them and I haven't slipped yet. We also have a fold out grab handle to help. I also slipped coming out of our old TT twice when the fold out metal step was wet. I did quite a number to my shoulder with one of those falls. Just call me a klutz.

Recently somebody posted a picture of a grab bar (kind of a stick coming out) they made that was attached to either their ladder or a folding grab bar. Can somebody recall that post? Thanks.
