We have stayed at Maumee SP several times. It is a beautiful park. The campground is just a short bike route away from lake Erie. The bike path is great along the lake. The park has a great Lodge with a nice resturant and game room. There is also a nature center and plenty of walking paths. The campground itself does not have any woods but many of the sites have tress. There is shade but not every site has shade. Your best bet is to do a drive through and find the spots with the more mature trees. The campground is very clean and all the sites are nice and big. We enjoyed our stay each time we have been there.
