Looking at the same unit and the trailer is 18,000 max load. I'm getting the F-450 as you need the dually's for that type load.

I've seen them at 56k at local Furd dealer, Lariat too. Go figure ?

Anything over 50K is a hell of a lot of money for a TV Paul, and I'm not dis' crediting the F450 by any means. I really do like it. In the next few months I'll see just how much I like it.

I just got back from a 4000 plus mile trip. I have a Chevy 2500 HD w/ Duramax and 6 speed allision we pull a 38 SRV by Victory Lane has generator and we load 2 HD dressers in the garage plus tool box and everything eles I had plenty of power going up the mountians of CO & UT and it handied great in the cross winds of SD & MN.Can't see driving a dully all year to work for x# of days pulling the 5er. When we go full time I'll get a bigger tow rig.

The Jayco is HEAVY! You will be looking at a loaded pin weight of 4,000lbs +. At the end of the day it's your call but personally, I would not hook that much trailer to a SRW.

I LOVE my Recon (see sig) but it is one HEAVY beast!
I wouldnt do it with a 3/4 ton.
A dually is the minimum to haul that thing around
Have fun!

I would get that new Ford F450 as well personally. Besides, if you live in Oklahoma, you must have other uses for a truck like that anyway.....right?

I am also looking at the Jayco Recon F37U. My current tow vehicle is a 1998 Chevy 3500 CC SRW with the 454 Vortech. The door says the GVWR is 9000lbs, the GAWR Front is 4100lbs and the rear is 6084lbs. I dont see anything about max tow weight. Where would I find that? Im planning on adding Firestone type air bags onto the rear axle. Im wanting to go a few years before buying a new truck.
Thanks for any info and advice!

I think that is alot of trailer for that truck. I checked Trailer Life and went to the tow ratings. The file only went back to 1999 but I looked at the 2000 ratings and it looks like similiar truck is rated for somewhere between 11,000 - 13,000 lbs max for a 5th wheel. Good luck in your research.

Thanks for that weblink.
It does indeed appear to be a considerable load on my truck. I may have to start thinking about a smaller trailer.
