I got busy working again on the trailer. I've got a few new upgrades to the old gal. First I bought a TV antenna. I wanted the old style to go with the trailer. At first it looked real funny and I was not sure I liked it. But now it's growing on me. You never see these any more. It works great too.

Next thing was to add a shelf. I wanted someplace to put my jeans and t-shirts. Also my 12v TV. This will free up space for the misses. Also mounted my Maglite close by for her too. Oh, I still need to put a cover on the cable line coming in.
I bought an inline AC voltage meter. This will let me know of spikes and drops.
I got tired of holding up the bench lids to put my things inside. So I came up with this idea. It's a hook and eye setup. They come in different lenghts, I used 4" long hooks.
I've got a few more projects to get done before we go out soon. I'll keep you posted.

I installed an electric tongue jack, mounted flat screen LCD/HD TV/DVD, roof vent cover for bathroom, and new faucet for bathroom sink in the off season.

New perfomance cam, lifters, true-roller timing set, headers, 3" custom exhaust and a new carburetor.
It's to help tow the "vintage" travel trailer.

I don't carry because I have to, I carry because I get to. I like new things-

I had a good friend build me a 2 1/4" Y-pipe, then 3" through a Magnaflow muffler and 3" the rest of the way out.
I'm very pleased with how it turned out. There is a big increase in low end torque and it pulls a lot harder all the way through the RPM's and it sounds real nice too.
I have a few more things to do to the trailer, one more LP gas light (still on order) for the bathroom and we are going to paint the dark brown on the trailer to match the Sequoia brown metallic on the truck.

Is that the 360 engine? It sure look like it. Seeing that brought back memories. I had the 360 in my 1975 F350 straight truck. Great engine.
What is clipped to the coil? You have timing light on it or a tach on the coil?
Looks good.
John
Strange enough, that 360 only got ~ 10 to 12 mpg driving around empty with a 4 speed manual tyranny. And it did not matter if I had 2 ton on the back.... Still the same mileage. Almost the same as my 2005 F350, just this new one has more get up and go. 30 years and still the same mileage... just more performance.

Thanks John, it's a 390. I had a dwell/tachometer hooked to the coil.
I was getting ready to start the engine and run it to break in the cam, the red wire was not attached to anything on the other end. I had it there incase I needed to shut the engine down I could just ground the wire, just a cheap kill switch.
Towing the trailer it gets around 7-8, I'm hoping to pick up at least 1 more mpg. I don't know what it gets around town but it's really thirsty.
