During the major part of the year my DH and I work as gas leak surveyors for Southern Cross. But in the fall, we head home to work in the family Christmas Decor business.
This year, I have convinced my brother (the owner) that it would be a great idea if he would consider hiring Workampers to fill the positions.
The job entails hanging/stringing lights, garland, setting up Christmas trees, and generally providing/installing the clients with what they want to decorate their homes/businesses with.
You would be located in Lenoir City, TN, which is about 20 miles south of Knoxville.
We always have more work than we can do and we need quality minded people to help us get the work done in the short time that is the Holiday Season.
I have to say, this work is not hard, but it's not easy either. You will need to be able to climb a ladder, work some evenings, and be willing to do what it takes to get everyone's decorations up in a timely manner. After all, it's not like you can put off Christmas until later. :-)
You will need to be a team player and be very flexible.
The starting pay is $10 an hour for all hours worked and overtime after 40.
People are needed starting anywhere from Oct 15 to Nov 1. In the beginning, you will work about 30 hours a week. But as the season progresses, (right around Nov 10) you will get as many hours as you can stand.
The season winds down around Dec 10-15, so you will be done in time to go home to your families if you wish.
After New Years, we have to take down all the decorations we put up. If you want to work take down, you can work that too. You would just have to let us know if you wanted to work or not.
There is bonus money available and we are looking for people who can take charge of a crew if/when they feel they are ready for that responsibility.
If you feel you are a bit more agile, and are not afraid of heights, the starting pay for people who can safely climb on roofs is $12 an hour.
There are no campsites provided but there are several campgrounds in the area that have reasonable monthly rates. I am trying to get my brother to reimburse the Workampers for their campsite rent as an "end of season bonus" if they stay the whole season and do a quality job. So far, he has been very open to this type of bonus and I believe he will add that to the compensation package.
This work is very rewarding. You will be amazed at the artistic ability you have once you are trained. And the jobs you do will just look gorgeous!
If anyone is interested in this type of work for this coming Fall, send me an email and I will give you the contact info you need.
This work is suitable for male, female, single, or married. You just need a willingness to do good, hard work for great clients.
If you have further questions, feel free to post here, or send me a private message.
I have also listed the business owners email for you to contact him directly.
The owners email is:

(of course remove the "at" and the "dot", and put in the proper symbols before using the address. got to keep the spammers out of the inbox :-)
Do you paint windows, as well? I used to do that in my younger days!

We have had several people inquire about the job. We have a few more openings still available.
This is a great job with above average workamper pay, plus bonuses. Nothing like singing Christmas Carols while you work. We don't even care if you sing off-key
Anyone who thinks they might be interested should contact me very soon before all the positions are filled. We'd like people to start rolling in around the 1st of Oct. or so.
I just wanted to add to this post. Mr.Redmond seems like a really nice person. They have a great work plan. Great hours and hourly wage. I think if you were to be in this area for the winter this would be a great company to work for.
They also explain all aspects of the job and rv sites in FULL detail. The employee/employer contract is direct and seems very fair with a great end of season bonus. I wish dh and I could have taken this job. Cant wait till next season
