I want to try Indian Fry Bread dough in the irons, I think it could turn out some good sandwiches.

Meat loaf:
1 lb beef
chopped onion
season to taste.
Coat the iron with olive oil.
Mix meat, onion and seasonings together into a patty that fits your iron.
Cook to your liking and brush on some bbq sauce.
We did these last week with buffalo and it was fantastic!
Happy Trails.

Heres one we used on vacation that wen't over very well, it is a dessert pie similar to smores. They are called pudgy pies, don't remember where I got the recipe from.
Two slices of bread
4 marshmellows
creamy peanut butter
chocolate bar (Hershey's is the favorite)
Butter the outside of bread
Spread peanut butter on one slice
Add 4 marshmellows
Add one chocolate bar
Bake until light golden brown.
Boy these are way to good!

Ok, we tried many this past week/ weekend. The one above for some reason we just didn't cook right or care for.
So our favorite recipe so far is...(although we haven't tried the cinnamon stick)
* Bacon
* Egg
* Cheese
* Bread
* PamĀ®
Directions:
Cut your bacon strips in half and lay them in the pie iron (both sides). Set 1 slice of bread on top of the bacon. Gently pat down the bread. Crack egg onto the bread. Lay cheese over top and cover with the other slice of bread. Close and cook slowly. When the bacon is cooked, the egg inside will be cooked. Awesome!
THIS IS GREAT!!!!

I usually do the apple pie filling with Cabot Salted Butter and Canadian White Bread. Tastes really good at 11:30 at night with a couple beverages

Tried another one last week-end. Took a large soft taco shell, folded in half in the pie iron filled with pre-made taco meat and cheese. Folded the rest of the shell into the iron making a pocket and cooked for 3 minutes a side. Came out great next time going to fill the shell with pulled pork.

Isn't it amazing how wonderful plain old white bread tastes when it's been in a pie iron? I have a gas stove, in the house, and our grandson likes pie iron breakfasts...so, we make them inside.
