Deep sand that cannot be seen from the drivers seat, thusly burying your rig to the axles. I heard a story, (2nd hand), that tow trucks will only go out 1 mile off the main highway. You are on your own beyond that. Also, I went there once on a Friday night, and because of the intense winds, left early Saturday AM, for a better riding area, 100 miles away.

Oregon Dunes ROCK my friend!!

See ya out there!!

there's a lot of trails in the back country area, just watch out if you go west of I-15 on barstow then there's a lot of folks who use that BLM area as a assault rifle shooting range =)

you can camp off Outlet Center drive or Hodge road which is roughly 10 miles from Barstow and about 20 miles from Apple Valley.

I got nothing to say........

course I heard that there's a bunch a wild people that go out there and make big ol fires with a lot of gasoline at all hours of the night.

That kind of behavior just scares me, and I would never bring my family around that kinda atmosphere.
