I spent some time with the Sabre rep while at an RV show last weekend. Nice guy and answered my questions the dealer at the show couldn't.
As most, we liked the floorplan. However, I was impressed with some other items.
1) Welded aluminum frame on all sides.
2) Standard equipment i.e. over size fridge, 10 gallon DSI water heater, R14 in the roof/floor R9 in the walls
3) Sliding bike rack in the back holding up to 200# (nice place for a generator)
4) 15K BTU AC
5) workmanship in the details of the interior
6) It's a good looking unit
7) and my favorite....a porcelain toilet...ahhhh
Besides, we got it a a killer price.
I've been shopping 5'ers for a month and had it narrowed down to 5 units. The deal breaker was the great price.
I ended up getting it at a nearby dealer. He was very personable and didn't give me any BS. Besides, he didn't really sell me the trailer, I knew what I wanted and bought it from him.
I'll let you know after we take it out.

Hey Amxpress, We bought a 2008 Sabre recently too. A 28RETS. I agree...great coach. We have been out 3 times so far and so far so good. The only thing I have found is the slide seals stuck to the coach and they ripped when I opened it. Dealer is ordering new ones. I plan to lub them with 303 Protectant to keep it from happening again. Might want to check yours also.

Wow. What a great tow package. Two items. 2008 Dodge is rated an excellent tow vehicle by Diesel World magazine (number one in pure power. GM was first overall and Ford came third. Ford was number One in ride quality but a distant 3rd in power and mileage) Did I say I have a Ford F250 diesel.
2nd When I was at the Palomino factory this summer I got a receipt with Forest River on it. Have they been bought out? Now maybe we can get 3 slides on the unit. Stop it. Don't say 4 slides. Too much

Hyndsite...Palomino was purchased by Forest River a couple years ago but in the deal according to our Palomino Dealer Forest River will continue to use the Palomino name first. We have owned 5 Palomino Products so far and more than likely our next unit will again be a Palomino Sabre. Great Dealership and Manufacturer is biggest deciding factor in our choice of unit.
Love our Palomino Thoroughbred even though we had problems with our other unit they (dealer & manufacturer)and put us into the unit we have now and love it.

amxpress, Sorry to hear that it was assembled in Mexico. I hope they don't use lead based paint. Oh, that's right that was Tonka made in China that used lead based paint. I'm sure people making $3 to $4 an hour in Mexico are just as worried about quality as the Chinese seem to be. Dave
