Got weighed while loaded this weekend. 2 adults 1 child (which I've come to the conclusion adds more associated weight than an adult!) and we were loaded coming back from a 1 month outing, full fresh water tank.
There is a full-timer from Arizona who weighs vehicles by using portable scales.
You drive an axle onto a pair of scales and keep going until you have TV and Trailer weights and pin weight.
When you have the weights he gives you a spreadsheet with the numbers and lets you know how safe you are.

This is really stupid-we bought a 2007 2500HD Silverado Duramax diesel, we also bought a 2008 Grand Junction-specification says: unloaded vehicle weight: 12,246
dry hitch weight: 2,472
gross vehicle weight: 15,500
question: what and why do you have to weight the axel and how do you do it? I carry very little in 5th to avoid extra weight.
