This brings back memories! There is an old house east of Salem, Oregon on Highway 22....They open it once a year. The original owner had acres and acres of apple trees and his own cider mill. When they open it, they give tours of the house and outbuildings and you can have cider to drink, buy cider to take home (yummmy) and buy apple pie slices. It's is AWESOME!

We are presently near Ottawa, Canada on our way to Stowe, Vermont where we will hook up with a 30-day RV caravan through New England. I was just reviewing the itinerary and see that we will be visiting the Cold Hollow Cider Mill near Stowe. It will be another "first" for us.

Neat old place! More important though, is to stop at Ben & Jerry's when you are up that way.

Do they check for wormy apples before they dump them by the basketful into that machine?

Nope, ever see any little eyeballs starring back at you as you a scrutinize the contents of the apple juice jug?

Nothing wrong with a little added protein!
