We just puchased a used 2006 rockwood 8296ss, we love the camper itself but have a few issues. I have been reading about the problems with the stereo system and I think I am now in this category. The system worked for the first weekend and then we went back the following week and the monitor wouldnt come on,when we check the connections all the we get is a loud ticking noise when we go to connect the wall plate connection on the red sided one. The monitor will not come on at all,, but the stereo system works great,,do you feel that this is just the monitor? We really dont know whether to replace the monitor or just go with a regular tv..I am hoping that we can do that if we choose too,We dont know much about this technology so we are really in the dark, I would appreciate any help that anyone could give us...Also we have a problem with the tub/shower leaking under the door frame,,anyone out there experienced this?

WE have a Jensen system, all we use it for is sound from the TV to the surround speakers. If you have a small tv in your house drag it out to the tt and try it. That will tell ya if it is the tv or the stereo.

As far as you shower you should have a little access panel in the front base, take the cover off. make sure all the lights are off and have someone stand inside the shower with a flashlight shining down, have another person look in the access hole for signs of light. If you cant see any light then get out and turn the water on and look inside the access hole for water dripping. You might have a loose fitting. Also check to see if the drain where it goes down through the base is loose, you might just have to put some silicone around your drain.

We recently had our second one replaced, first one didn't even make it through the PDI.

I replaced our LCD monitor on our 2007 Rockwood. It lasted one camping trip before going totally dead. The second one has been ok though so far.

By reading all the poor wiring and the cheap quality of the Concertone system itself I would recommend you save yourself the hassle and go to Best Buy and get something decent you can install yourself.

My 4 year old daughter can get a +/- wire right when a RV assembly person can't.

Amazing.

thanks for your help, I hope that I am able to do just that,,to me the easier the better, I know that when the monitor was working,,that I couldnt get any reception from the air antenna and when I call FR they told me that it was normal to get a blue screen if the reception wasnt strong, dont know if that is correct either, but I wasnt sure if I could just hope up a regular tv to the outlet in the wall or not,,some folks told me that the wall plate on the wall with the antenna hook up was wired into the concertone system..It was nice to be able to have everything all in one place because now I will also have to have a seperate dvd player too then, correct..I wont be able to use the system other than for radio ..or am i missing something..folks are telling me that i can use the tv as my monitor but how do I connect to the wall plate for the concertone because it has a 12 volt connection and i dont see how that could work,,

Plug into the 120 volt socket and don't use the 12 volt socket, you can still hook up your cable to that jack without using the 12 volt socket, then hook up the audio out from the new tv to the audio input jacks that go to the stereo

There should be enough owners of Concertone Junk out there to get up a class action law suit. I can't figure why mfgs use this company anyway. It is junk. They won't answer your questions when you call them if you can even get through.
good luck

They are replacing mine for the second time in two trips. When I asked the lady that does the ordering at my dealership how many they were replacing, she said," nearly every one of them at least once". They are no longer getting the same monitor but I don't know if the new brand is any better. I'm up for the class action suit to get something that will last.
