If it's not ammonia, and the refer works, place about a 1/2 cup of unused (new) coffee grounds on a plate or bowel in the refer and close the door and let sit over night. This has works for about everything from rotten meat smells in semi trailers to a bottle of perfume the exploded in my car in the summer heat (thanks to my sister borrowing my car).

Heat two cups of white vinegar in a microwave in a plastic bowl. Place this in the ref and shut the door. Wait about 4 hours and repeat. Remove the vinegar and bowwl. Wipe out the ref and then place a large amount of crumpled newspaper in the ref.

Repeat this process as necessary.
