Hoops you have got to be kidding. Most everyone in the RGV has never seen any wind or won't admit to it.

No it isn't they won't admit it or see it, it is because they like the breeze, so therefore it is a non-issue to most who winter in the RGV. As is the case with us. And we can't understand some peoples complaints about it all the time . But yesterdays wind had even the locals noticing it.

We joined Hoops and other RV.netters Friday at the Riverside. The tenderloins were great and we will go back. We took the river boat ride and really enjoyed it. It is a large boat so even if the water is choppy the ride is smooth. The water was cleaner than we expected. It was a narrated tour and several spots along the bank were pointed out as areas where Mexicans come across to the US. While we probably wouldn't go again it still was worth the money and a nice way to spend the day.
Last night we went to the Basicilica of Our Lady of San Juan. Wow what a beautiful church and a mariachi band. Even if you are not Catholic you will enjoy seeing the architecture, hearing the music and learning the history of this church.

If you go don't forget to go on the path around the grounds. Very nice statues and it tells a story.

Double Decker is back in the Valley.
50's & 60's Rock-N-Roll
Old & New Country
They put on a really good show, It is different because they interact with the audience, not just sit behind the mike.
Dave circulates among the crowd, may harass you a bit & tells a few jokes.
Mama Decker is a treat too but watch out, she likes to hug.
They will be at the Meadow Creek Club in Mission, This is formerly Seven Oaks
at 801 South Inspiration Road.
Time: Every Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.
Cost $4.00
Beer, Wine & Setups available.
Rock-N-Roll is hard to find in the Valley, if they are not playing enough just request the songs you want, they try to play what the majority of the audience wants.
THEY PUT ON A GREAT SHOW

OH YEA!!!! And boy were they good.....as usual.
We also enjoyed the company of good friends, and the boat ride as well. I also agree, probably wouldn't do it again, but it was worth it one time.
Oh BTW, this was the FIRST time that I've really thought the wind was objectionable. And to be on the safe side, put my awning up. Several others close to me left theirs out with no problems however. They all had bows in them which help a lot. I'm going to get some.

Watch the arched bows, they have a tendency to stretch the awning fabric out to a point the awning bunches up went rolled up.
BTW
Please post the GPS co-ordinates of the breaded tenderloins.
